I loved this episode. No one talked about the title of the episode and how Weiner gave us a huge curveball. It is called The Milk and Honey Route. Clearly that was a reference to the Land of Milk and Honey, basically the paradise the freed Jews coming out of Israel spent 40 years looking for.
Don went to this idyllic small town in midwest America. He goes to that meeting, came clean to what he did in Korea to complete strangers, and was fully and completely accepted immediately. Clearly this was the land of milk and honey. He found the spot he had been looking for. Then those guys barge into his hotel room, accuse him of something he didn't do, and beat him in the face with a phonebook. I was shocked by that turn of events.
I cannot wait to see what happens in the finale.

Yeah. Nothing special.

Season 7 was Jordan on the Wizards.
Yup. Can't really disagree with this, although I did like the first half fine. It was this 7B that was just terrible.

Don innocently telling Betty in last week's episode to "knock'em dead" takes on morbid overtones it at first didn't have.

Minus the 70 page interlude on vaginatighening, it's a pretty quick read.
Yeah, it's the one major flaw in the novel. After Sonny's death, the whole Lucy Mancini character herself seems kind of extraneous.

I'm kind of surprised about how I feel about Pete. I've hated him most of the time but saw glimpses of likability here and there, but I am actually glad it appears he gets the happy ending. I really bought that he had changed and realized what he had in his family.

I don't like Betty having lung cancer because it's a little politically correct. "Well, we have shown people smoking for years, so we have to give someone lung cancer to show there are consequences to smoking."

The title is from a Depression era book that is a guide for getting along as a hobo.

For anyone who is interested in learning the ropes: The Milk and Honey Route.

Its amazing when you consider the transformation Pete has made from Season 1 to Season 7. He went from a spoiled brat, to a Don-wannabe, to a hard working executive who realizes the value of his family. Pete has changed as much as Peggy has. As much as I miss the "grimey little pimp" from the first few seasons, it was cool to see his story wrapped up the way it was.
I have no clue how Don is going to end up. I was all for him going out West and just starting over. Now that Betty is going to die, it wouldn't be a great way to wrap up his story by leaving them to be raised by Henry.

So was the cop pulling him over a flash forward or a flashback? (or a dream?)

How did the kid manage to make it look like Don did it?

Well damn. I preferred my interpretation. Oh well.

Anyone else think that kid is going to crash and burn up in that car and he looks enough like Don that everyone will think it is him, so Don will be free to transform again without looking over his shoulder

Ponder this possible ending: Duck has conspired with Hobart to trick Pete into quitting McCann and foregoing his bonus millions. The Wichita job doesn't exist, and when Pete finds out, he takes a header out the window.

Don ain't going back for the kids.

He didn't really. They just instantly suspected him because he was an outsider.

If all that happens because Pete didn't think enough to show up at the restaurant and find out for himself, I will laugh my arse off.
