I see the last scene as Don introducing himself as "Dick Whitman"...finally killing off Don Draper.

Whoa. That would be ruthless.

I think it's been building to that for a while.

It is kind of a shame that we'll probably never see Don Draper, the ad executive, again. I really miss the first few seasons where we saw Don in his element at Sterling Cooper. It feels like he has been in a downward spiral since Betty discovered his secret.
The show really started drifting away from the business storylines a few seasons ago. Landing this account and that account. What taglines or campaign to start. The show has really evolved away from that.
I'm still waiting on someone to put Henry in his place.

I dont see him in a downward spiral anymore, especially since Megan left him, she was draining him.
and Don put Henry in his place by screwing Betty behind his back.
also, I'm happy Pete got Trudy back. Trudy was always the best.

Yeah. But it's hard to be critical because clearly Weiner had a lot of this in his mind by introducing the Draper past so early on. I always was a bit iffy during his trips to Cali and such, and I love Don in the office, but part of what makes the show great is the flawed nature of the characters. Don would be less likable if we didn't experience him outside of the office.

Not sure how I feel about Don giving a start to that amateur con man.

Just got finished watching all previous seasons and Able became Gene somewhere after Megan and Don got together.

Sorry I was MIA during last nights episode. Few quick notes:
-Pete getting back with Trudy. He's clearly the luckiest man on this series
-The moment when the vets stormed Don's room. I thought one of them had found out who he really was. I don't know why. But that entire situation rubbed me the wrong way.
-Two scenes really got to me. First, the moment when all of the Draper children were sitting at the kitchen table together. It made me realize that Sally will probably have to watch out for her brothers for the rest of her life. As much as I like Don. He's definitely not a stable figure in their lives. Henry has always given me the vibe that he didn't really like the children. So only one stable figure exist and that's Sally.
Second, when Sally was reading the note that Betty gave her. I can imagine being in that position. But I am glad that Betty made the statement "You march to the beat of your own drum. Your life will be an adventure". I'm not going to say that this made me like Betty Francis. But it did show me that she has matured in some fashion. During the early seasons I always thought of Betty as another child. But I finally feel like she's doing her own thing and not being fake
Finally, I feel like we have wrapped up a number of characters on this series. [My DVR cutout before showing previews for the series finale]. I'm under the impression that Pete/Trudy, Roger, Joan, Betty, Sally & Peggy's story have been completed.

Could the finale focus only on Don? Bold choice. I still think we might get to see Sally, Peggy, and/or Roger again.

Hopefully I'm wrong about the Series Finale.
Originally I thought we wouldn't see Don at all during episode thirteen. But to my surprise we did.

what were Don and Sally talking about on the phone towards the beginning? He was telling her all the places he had been/was going, but then he told her to sell her field hockey equipment because (if i remember correctly) "we don't know about money"
Posted on 5/11/15 at 1:35 pm to Ex-Popcorn
That's been my theory for a while now.

It would be interesting. He's already said that "He used to work in advertising"
Something about Don sitting at bus stop smiling is cool to me.

I hope we get at least one more Roger story, and I hope it's not his death.

Thought so.
I hope in the finale they have a little more for Peggy. I'd hate for her character to basically end with "they thought I was a secretary?!?" Though, that would be some what fitting for her I guess. I just want a better send off for her.

Food for thought:
The last episode was set in July 1970. July 1st-4th. This episode was October 1st 1970. Don's been away from McCann, and away from home, and on the road, for three months now.
Also, I wonder if Sally will tell him about Betty.
