The point being Disney can do amazing things and put on a hell of a show if they want. They have just gotten use to putting out shite. That Luke is pitiful.

For movies, of course they do because they have the budget to do it. Casting a $25/hour Luke-a-like is infinitely more difficult to do, as they are not going to commit resources to finding a clone. Close enough will do.

They could have least made him more character like without the Andy Warhol haircut. Dude looks like he could have been a member of The Monkees.

That's because it's a lot easier to apply enough makeup and teach exaggerated mannerisms to make someone appear like a cartoon character.

A lot harder to replicate a live human being with another live human being.

No, it wasn't a ton of makeup to look like cartoon characters, they were the perfect representation of the characters. You would have thought they were the models the cartoon characters were based off of. It really was amazing. Guess you have your mind made up, but I've seen what they can do. This is years ago Disney, and it is just not the same these days.

Yeah, I see how it could be confusing

"Parks and Cons" "#GalaxysEdge"

You do realize there is also a Galaxy's Edge at the park in Orlando, do you not? Disneyland is west coast, Disney World is east coast. It's a 50-50 shot as to which park this was at.

So, they could do it for Naveen, Flynn, etc. for the price they were paying but Luke is just a bridge to far?

Nah, I'm not buying it. I'd buy that some pissed off casting person picked him specifically to shite on the fans that hate the new Star Wars before I would believe that's the best they could do.

If I cared enough, I could have my wife dig out the old photos and you could see that every one of them was a better representation of their character that that "Luke" and my daughter had pictures with practically all of the Disney characters.

Times have changed; it is what it is.

You think it would make a big difference? They had crowds for Rey last time i was in Orlando.

My much more sane person reaction is it’s funny how much it looks like Leslie Knope

If Disney characters really get anyone in here this rilled up, may I suggest you find better hobbies to fill your time.

Didn't know that Bert was a cartoon character (or Mary either for that matter). Guess there are more young Berts than Lukes running around.

Make all of the excuses you want but they could do better if they cared to.

These people just love to bitch about anything Disney. Some of it warranted but OP is on a weird streak lately, bitching about how hot young girls should be and now bitching about a cast member in a theme park

You don't have to, that's fine. But I have a personal relationship with Disney Parks casting and know that their budget is very much restricted versus the movie section of the company. And casting does a pretty good job, considering their limitations. They don't always nail it, but I can tell you, they aren't casting Luke to thumb their noses at fans.

And this is coming from someone that hates what they did to the movies.

I'm no defender of Disney.

How come I can’t buy any Han Solo merchandise at Disney World?
