I agree. Nice observation. I think they purposely left it open to whether the bomb went off at all. I like to think it was the energy pocket was released, not the bomb.

Oh it went off and caused the Incident, but has almost nothing to do with the afterlife.

After watching the finale, I got kind of a "Titanic" feel. You know after Rose dies she goes back to the ship and sees everyone else that died that day, including Jack. They all had the same "experience" and were spending their eternity together onboard the Titanic.

I'm working on little sleep, so I might be a little out there, but does anyone else see this?

Please for the love of God learn to read.

Nowhere have I stated that I believe they died on the plane.

I have simply stated I can see other alternatives on a show that was all about hidden meanings and other alternatives.

Get over yourself.

I must say, when the show is over, goes to black, and starts showing end credits...and merely shows a set piece of the original plane crash wreckage...I gotta say that is pretty fricking definitive.

Because obviously that would have meant they were so close to it, they would surely die.

That makes pretty what most of the characters did in the 5th season completely pointless; which happens to be my problem with the final season and the finale. I get that everything wont be answered but the answers you do provide should at least try to not make what happened to the characters in the past irrelevant suffering.

Well everything they did and died for led to the death of smokey and assurance that he wouldn't get off the Island. It preserved the light and allowed for the afterlife that they enjoyed together in the end

i think the entire premise of lost is to show the life and death on a cellular level.

The island is nothing but an agre solution that allows the growth of the cells. ONce the agre solution is eliminated everyone dies.

MIB was kind of a douche cell, and wanted all the agre to himself, but jacob told him to stop being a bitch. MIB gets pissed and spends all his life trying to find the source of the agre to still it all.

Then we introduce the Losties... which i firmly believe to be leukocytes... Brought to destroy the infection that is MIB.

Ben is a nematode.

How so?
They were trying to set off the nuke, but(I feel) they just merely failed.
I am open to other theories usually, but I would love the writers try to explain to me how a H bomb explodes in Juliet's face, and she survives.

On a serious note, I applaud Lost for actually embracing spirituality and religion in a horribly secular Hollywood and also, world.

How does absolutely anything they do in the 70's have any bearing whatsoever on this?
