I think folks are forgetting about that entire Red Herring shite. I still have no idea what made the island special and what kind of plutonium that light was supposed to be.
Somebody explain that hole to hell in the island and I'll be satisfied with the ending. It's the real timeline I'm pissed about.
Its implied from Jacob's coversation to Richard that it is literally holding back Hell and darkness. We don't need a bigger explanation.

One thing that is weird to me is that Jack's son did not really exist.
Yeah, that kind of clued me in that something different was going on

No kidding
It is killing me listening to this crap. I can't believe they make us wade through this shite to get to kimmel.

i loved the final scene, but don't like how they never explained where lapidus was taking them.
Either the nearest Island, Honolulu, or LA I'd guess. Do we really need that?

If MIB succeeded in turning out the light, everything ceases to exist.
we don't know this
initially if desmond didn't enter in all the numbers, everything ceases to exist. that was a lie
we know that was a lie b/c they failed to do it once and we saw that everything did not cease to exist
how do we know the island matters this much? we don't
why? b/c the island isn't explained
quote:
The point wasn't WHY the light functioned like that, it was how the characters reacted to it.
there were a shitload of things the characters had to react to in this show that turned out to be pointless
why do we have to believe the island was any different?

then you have to explain why saving the island is important,
Saving the island is important because if the light goes out, so does real life/purgatory/afterlife. They explained this.

which means you have to explain what the island is
See? This is where we are going to have to agree to disagree. They told us the light is important. Why is the light on THIS island? How did it get to this island? I don't need to know. This isn't a deal breaker for me.

But how the hell does Hurley do that? He doesn't have any kind of special abilities as it was implied that Jacob has.
its stuff like this that made me quit reading these threads.

What the hell is Hurley supposed to be still protecting the island from?
People who will abuse its powers and perhaps destroy it.

If the Island was such a mystical all powerful force in the universe, how is Dharma able to harness part of the island with the computer and the program down in the hatch?
maybe this was explained and I never saw it.
Just seems strange that the center of light in the world can be tamed by a commodore 64

Do you people even listen to yourself. So all of heaven, hell and purgatory hinge on a rock plugging a hole on an island.
Just listen to how silly that sounds.

Don't know if this has been covered....i'll first say I dug the finale. I feel like it wrapped it up nicely as far as i'm concerned.
One thing I'm thinking about.....Locke's dad...wtf is up with that? In purgatory, he's left as basically a vegetable and he and locke are somewhat cool. Just kinda odd. Also, Jack's son and a few more things. It's gonna take a few days for me to process this, haha. Great show.

based on what?
the characters fricked up a bunch on the island and the results were never as dire as they were told
and anyway, assuming this result is real, then what the frick is the light?
quote:
They told us the light is important.
no they didn't
they said a BUNCH of shite was important that didn't end up being important. hell look at walt

so you just say "whatever" to the biggest focal point of a mystery show? ok

what were they protecting it from before there was an MIB?
People who wanted to take the light. This was answered in Across The Sea.
