Do you people even listen to yourself. So all of heaven, hell and purgatory hinge on a rock plugging a hole on an island. Just listen to how silly that sound.
GTFO GFY.

ok
based on this logic, i assume there are other failsafe keys dealing with the light

My take: What happened on the island was real. The island was the gate to the afterlife, ie eternal life. If it was destroyed ALL life would cease.
The light had to be put out to kill smokie, then quickly reignited to preserve the afterlife. Once that was accomplished everyone else alive lived their life off island.
What we are seeing in the "alt" timeline is a flash forward to when all the characters have died and are living in the afterlife. They are then able to move on to the "light" that Jack had preserved.
I really like this.

what the frick is the "light"
It's been explained in many ways dating back to Season 2.
Come on, man

What is wrong? Truth hurts you too much.
Amazing that all the people in the afterlife created a system by which they could be destroyed by pulling a rock out of a hole.

in vague terms without any concrete nature to it sure
lost is like a murder mystery with an estranged couple investigating
they never figure out who that murderer is, but they end up fricking at the end

SFP, Are you looking for a logical, scientific explanation here? I'm not understanding.
Posted on 5/24/10 at 12:17 am to noonan
I thought at some point they burned that chunk of the wreckage, but I could be wrong about that.

a logical explanation would suffice
they fricked up this show so badly there are none. only silly explanations that don't work with later things or just no explanations at all.

I think a lot of you missed the point. Everyone was dead by the time the plane crashed. There were no survivors of Oceanic 815. The most important times of their lives were spent together on the island, which was a venue upon which they could right their wrongs. Purgatory, if you will.
They didn't die in the crash. Jesus Christ. "Through the Looking Glass" proved this.

if they don't die in the crash, then 100 more questions about the emo-verse arise
along with why the frick they showed the wreckage, completely implying they all died

Sorry but on this show nothing has proven anything. Almost everything has been speculative which you guys have done for 6 years.

So how fricked up is it that Desmond is now stuck on the island after he had been reunited with Penny and promised her he would never leave her again?
The sailboat is still there, and since Hurley is now the protector, he can allow Desmond to leave. This is heavily implied by Ben at the end.

I have no answer for this.

this is your opinion. you gave up on a great show and this is what you will use to the bitter end to defend your poor choice. for those who have watched the entire thing it may seem dumb but we will have a better understanding off the show then you ever will and its not worth justifying the show because you will never accept any justification given.

And once again, you don't see how silly it is to say a rock in a hole protects all life and afterlife. Come on....a freaking rock in a hole.

I actually saw it at an airfield on the Northshore of Oahu in February about a half a mile from the others camp/YMCA camp
