If his memory is erased at this point in time as a kid he still has the opportunity to go back to the Dharma Initiative and re-ask his dad about what happened to his mother etc. So while he may not remember these events before Richard saved his life he can get that information from his father since we do not know how much time will pass before the purge.
I also loved the look on Ben's face when he saw Locke sitting there with him. I don't think that he thought the island would bring Locke back to life after Ben killed him. I think Ben is now scared and knows with certainty that the island will judge him. I am curious if they will ever explain the temple and the origns of Charles Whidmore and Richard Alpert.

I forget, is next season the last one or are there 2 more. I think the former, but looking for verification.

I watched it a couple times, its definitely ellie
They said Ellie, which is likely Eloise Hawking. We saw a scene in an earlier time with Charles and Ellie.
Since Ellie is Farrady's mother, will we later find that Charles Widmore is the father?

I think next season is suppose to be the last.

Who is this Ellie they mention at the end of the show when they say Charles too.
The girl Widemore is banging......and they have a son....his name is Daniel Faraday.

A few observations:
1. You guys still insist that Ben instigated the purge when he already told us he did not. He killed his dad, but not the rest of Dharma, and he did not call the shots. LINK
2. Why argue over why Kate, Sawyer, and Juliette saved Ben when they told us during the episode that the ladies couldn't let a kid die regardless of who he becomes. Both of them hold children dearly at this point. Sawyer told Kate that he did it for Juliette, which was a pretty big slap in the face to Kate.
3. Without Hurley, this show would be sorely lacking in the comedy department.
4. By trying to prevent Ben from growing up, Sayid actually set in place the actions that would cause Ben to become what he is.
5. Even if the Losties let Ben die, do you really think the others would have been nicer to them? After all, we have seen interaction by different groups with the others through several time periods (most of which ben was not the leader). Never have the others been extremely welcoming of outsiders. I think the treatment of the Losties by the others would have been as bad or worse regardless of who was in charge. At least with Ben, they know what they're getting.
Good summary.
1. Agree but the way the writers set it up, I think they led viewers to believe that Ben was the instigator.
2. Yep, I don't have a problem with any of the portrayed perspectives. Everyone, even Jack, felt they were following their instincts. Ironically, Jack has evolved into a John-like believer in destiny associated with the island.
3. Hurley is great and really nailed Miles in this episode related to the implications of time travel. haha
4. Agree with what others have said that this was the pinnacle of the episode. It does appear that a premise of LOST is that going back in time might change the path but not the ultimate outcome which is destiny.
5. Yep, The Others are the protectors of the island. It appears the history of The Others will reveal much about the island. Richard Alpert is obviously ageless and my guess this is due to his association with the island and not time travel.
In the previews for the next episode, Ben said something about being judged by the island. I think the smoke monster might be the judge and only the pure in heart pass the test. What I have noticed about the smoke monster is in some cases it kills immediately while at times it drags the victim down into what I guess is the Temple. Do those who get dragged down become Others deemed worthy as protectors of the island?

Yep, Ellie was the attractive girl holding the gun on Faraday while he was examing the hydrogen bomb in the Jughead episode.

Then again, they could be brother/sister. Of course, I guess they could still be banging. Maybe I've been in Alabama too long.

You still think that Ben tells the truth? He also lied about being born on the island, but that could also have inferred to the transformation he will undergo in the temple.
We have seen that Ben goes back to live with Dharma, maybe as a spy. It may have been his idea to initiate the purge.
Miles obviously got all his theories from Daniel, so where is he? Is he busy building the Orchid Station? Also, none of the O6 asked about any of the ones Left Behind. I find that very odd.

LOST is like a two-edged sword: it's great having so many interesting/complex characters interacting but it also creates information gaps since writers are obviously limited in how much can be shared in an hour episode. As a result it takes several episodes or even and entire season to get caught up on all the details. To me the format is very compelling though.

Any chance the season or maybe series finale will be aired with limited or no commercials so that we get as much answered as we can?
Posted on 4/2/09 at 1:45 pm to seawolf06
Is it even possible that ALL our questions will be answered after the series finale?
I find it doubtful.

It's LOST, there's a chance of anything happening

Didn't the smoke monster try to drag Jon Locke into the temple?

Ah, right. Thanks, but I was thinking they were talking about in their former, off-island life.
