I'm not thrilled. The brother who Galadriel is talking about is implied to be Finrod, who didn't die fighting orcs, he died killing a werewolf with his bare hands. Which is way more pimp.
Also I tend to doubt Elrond would be so casual talking to Galadriel since she was his mother in law.
I think they've made some writing decisions that aren't going to work out well.

I’m really looking forward to this.
I hope there will be room in the episode threads to discuss the series we actually get, and not just a constant rehashing of what we wish it was instead, like every other thread so far. It doesn’t have to appeal to Tolkien purists to be worth watching. Hell, Peter Jackson’s original trilogy didn’t even measure up in their eyes.

I honestly think that the show creators are banking on the hate-responses, hence the choice of music/lyrics.
That had to be intentional to rile up the internet.
Once they get the backlash, (a) any bad reviews will be discarded, (b) failure will be blamed on toxic males, and (c) they will get irrational support for the show simply to spite the toxic males.
