LoLoL. Disney doing work on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic

Its so painfully obvious that they are in a full scale panic, and trying to scramble to salvage their movie. As well as the possible damage they may have done to the Star Wars initiatives at their theme parks
Last night before going I went to bed, Rotten Tomatoes was at 56% audience score with 306 pages of reviews. So when I check it this morning, still 56%, but up tp 346 pages. And those new pages are chock full of negative reviews. Yet no further drop in the average score.
And those negative reviews are mostly in depth analysis of what failed. However, 2 to 3 entries per page are 5***** reviews along the lines of "Best Star Wars movie yet", "Can't wait to see it again", "Rian hit a home run". Not a single one referenced a scene or a character or anything from the movie. Its almost as though these posters hadn't really seen the movie.
And on page 1, 3, and 7 there was found the exact same positive reviews, from the exact same posters found on the other pages, with the exact same 4**** or 5***** rating
I also checked Metacrtic. It had 383 negative reviews compared to only 197 positive User reviews with a 5.0 audience rating. Woke up this morning, still at 5.0, but the positive reviews are now almost tied with the negative reviews
So in the wee hours of the morning, 400+ positive Users got on and posted what a wonderful movie they saw, and yet the audience rating was unaffected???
Seems like Disney has paid to have the audience score frozen (pun intended) to keep the debacle from attracting attention as to how quickly it has fallen to become the least liked addition to the SW galaxy
I expect shenanigans with the box office numbers too. It will make an amazing amount of money, despite how dreadful the movie is

I just started a thread from Deadline that the GA is enjoying it.

Or maybe a lot of people loved it, /r/movies and /r/StarWars seemed to really like it too. But sure it's all a big conspiracy

Yep. Disney paying so their sjw fest looks good. Sad

Have you seen it yet? Because me and you seem to have about the same taste in movies.

SJW?
This word has been overused so much it's lost all meaning. It's like the right's version of NAZI

I'm seeing it tonight. It's been very hard to stay away from all these threads

Don't believe it
Its clear that Disney bought those positive critic reviews
Its also clear that they went to work overnight to stop the bleeding in audience reviews
They will leave no stone unturned. Box office numbers will be inflated too

I am thoroughly confused.
I'm an OT era, hard core SW fan and I loved it. Absolutely loved it. My buddy that I saw it with, same.
My brother who is also a lifelong hardcore fan loved it.
Everyone I know personally that has seen it loved it.
The only place I'm seeing hate is the internet.

Did Disney pay all those Star Wars Fans too? I didn't get my paycheck

Just prepare yourself then. I really like TFA and i know you thought it was meh. You have no idea how disappointed and angry ive been since opening night. My wife cant even be around me cause im in such a bad mood

People seemed to have a lot of theoires about Snoke and Rey and the movie went in a completely different direction so now those people are throwing a fit over being absolutely wrong

Everyone that I know is aware of what a HUGE SW fan I am. Family and friends, to the person, have all called or texted me, to tell me how bad they thought this film was.
Not one person in my circle has been pleased

I'm a lifelong fan and was disappointed. Some parts were great, others were terrible, with lots of questionable choices. My 10 year old son loves Star Wars and was very meh about this movie. In contrast, he begged to go back and see TFA right after we walked out (he even kind of likes the prequels).

Same here. Going to see it Sunday and everyone I know who has seen it, from a wide range of ideologies and fandoms, have really enjoyed it. It's odd.

I’m having a lot of trouble sorting this out.
Nothing but love, love, love from everyone I talked to and as soon as I got on the Internet, hate, hate, hate.

How do you get a job writing fake reviews for Disney? I'd like to do that.
Posted on 12/16/17 at 10:51 am to Scoop
I have yet to meet anyone who liked it. And a lot of people who really hated it.
