said from the beginning that people posting RT audience numbers after 2 days of showings was premature. ESP comparing them to the other movies with years of ratings. It will go up from here. No way in hell is stays at 56

Maybe. Generally audience scores go down over time, especially IMDb. But Star Wars brings out the crazy in everyone so it’s possible

It took me awhile to admit to myself that each prequel was bad. They were Star Wars, dammit.

It's not taking a lot of time to come to that conclusion this time, at least for me. I suspect the scores will drop, once the shine wears off and people come to grips with what it was.

Could easily be misdirection for the reveal in the next movie. Just saying

One of the most valuable currencies in movie trillogies is manufactured anticipation.

When the internet went bonkers speculating about hinted future plot points and new character back stories, the studio EARNED that currency which all but guaranteed box office success for its follow-up.

But the currency of anticipation is also an investment on the part of the movie goer. We expect those things that so peaked our interests to have some meaningful payoff in the next film.

Was there a payoff? Did this movie generate more anticipation for a 3rd film?

Looks like the embargo has been lifted. Two web sites have come out and said that their ratings are authentic, and then we see them immediately start dropping again. It looks like they froze the scores until their internal investigation was complete. And then said, frick Disney, let 'er rip

Rotten Tomatoes: Dropped from 56% to 54%
Metacritic: Dropped from 5.0 to 4.8
IMDB: dropped from 8.0 to 7.8

As more people see it, the lower the ratings go. Its just simply not an entertaining story

That was me also. With TLJ I realized how bad it sucked before the movie was over. It honestly felt more like a really good troll than a legitimate attempt at making a good movie.

You see the same thing on Amazon on customer reviews of a product. Any time a product has 50% negative and 50% positive reviews, don't buy it because it's a piece of shite.

You go from reading an in depth negative review, explaining what is so bad about it in detail. And then right after that review, you see "best _______ ever! Love it! Would buy again!"

Gee, I wonder who wrote that. Surely couldn't be anybody affiliated with the manufacturer or seller of said product, could it?

Still dropping

Down to 53% on RT, and 7.7 on IMDB

Good. I hope it tanks big time. Screw these people trying to shove propaganda down our throats.
