Get everyone thinking you’re the boy who cried wolf and then WHAM!
Marvel Studios knows exactly what it’s doing, it’s really impressive how they run this universe.

Incredible episode. Not a comic book person but for the people complaining about Kang it seems to be he was chosen more for the endless options and open canvas he gives the writers now rather than his threat to the Avengers. It’s literally wide open now for Marvel/Disney to do whatever the f they like. It should be awesome. Infinite possibilities.

I loved everything about this series. Fantastic.
I have no idea where they are going with all of this, but if it’s going to get weird, then I’m all in.

I'm glad we are getting a human villain (kang) who "gods" like Loki fear.
Not cause he has superpowers but cause he is smart with 31st century Earth technology..from multiple Earths at that...Asgard of today can't even frick with it.
Loki was freaking out at the end lol
Can't wait to see Kang in his suit.

Can’t wait for Grogu to appear in the MCU

Kang. Damn. They really went there. You could tell early this show was much different than the other D+ offerings. The budget. The story. All film level.
Can’t wait.
Can’t wait.

I'm interested to see how Marvel is going to handle telling a coherent story because they are also setting up things that are resigned to one timeline with Valentina Contessa in Black Widow and Falcon/Winter Solider.
That is very much a more realist-based storyline and it'll be interesting to see how it ties together with this more fantasy-based storyline involving the multiverse.
Feige and Marvel did it on a much smaller scale in bringing the earth vs cosmic storytelling in the Infinity Saga, but this seems like it will be much tougher to pull off. But I'm excited to see it play out.
It seems like others have interpreted your post to be about the more “grounded” vs. the more “supernatural” storylines. But when I read your post, I thought about more in terms of coherency. I don’t know which way you meant it but I’m going with the latter because that’s what jumps out to me.

So, my take is that Marvel has done two things to the MCU with these developments:
1. They have introduced an incredible amount of versatility that will allow them to retcon whatever properties they want into the MCU without needing to take many liberties.
2. They have added an incredible amount of complexity to the MCU that could be really hard to navigate without going off the rails, so to speak.
It will be really interesting to see how they manage this moving forward. Yeah, they now have a creative license to do whatever the hell they want. But the continuity of the MCU is a big part of its strength.
I could see them using the multiverse as an opportunity to add the most popular properties (read: X-Men, Fantastic Four) into the MCU while still focusing primarily on one timeline for the sake of continuity.
I could also see them using the multiverse as a way to do more one-off films that stand on their own without necessarily needing to tie into the larger MCU story. I’ve said before that the continuity is a double-edged sword. Part of what made Deadpool great was that it wasn’t part of the MCU, so it got to stand alone as it’s own film with a completely different tone. But ultimately I don’t think we will see much of this, as it just doesn’t seem like Disney’s style. Unless they let 20th Century Studios (the old 20th Century Fox, now part of Disney) run with some one-offs.
I just hope they don’t go overboard with the multiverse concept to the point that it hurts the franchise. Because eventually the novelty will wear off and it needs to not be a confusing mess when that time comes. But I’m sure they have a pretty damned clear idea of their direction at this point, and I think it’ll probably be great in the end.

Don't know if you watched the Daredevil series but they can do the grounded characters like that.
Daredevil arch enemy in the show was kingpin of course but they had the Hand organization in it as well with more supernatural elements.
You can just have FaWTS or the new Black Widow go up against one of the somewhat grounded yet still supernatural more sci-fi villains, they don't have to fight super soldiers all the time...or if it is a SS they could've gotten their powers like Black Panther through some magical stuff, not a serum
My point is if the timeline is out of whack and everything is running into each other, how do you write that into the Black Widow and FatWS storylines because it kind of seems like the possible destruction of all time trumps whatever petty geopolitical skirmishes are happening in America.

A lot of people complaining probably aren’t familiar with Kang’s twisted history.
By that, I mean that he is Kang, Pharoah Rama Tut, Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, and others.
Timelines get fricking insane whenever Kang is brought up, but in general Immortus is the “mature” version of Kang who is beyond conquering and tries to fix the timeline.
In this case, the guy we saw was Immortus and when Sophie killed him, a Kang took over as the next head of the TVA.

I mean, it kinda is. But thats just how it works. Things at the level of Black Widow and FATWS don’t concern themselves with things happening in Loki, for one, because they don’t even know this is occuring.
The events of Thor: The Dark World are much higher stakes than the events of The Winter Soldier, for example. But Thor never bothers to get his buddies to help and really none of those events are mentioned very much or relevant in the movies other than Ragnarok->Endgame, and Loki.

Marvel is just ... wow, off the page at this point. Full on into the multiverse this early after Endgame is never something I expected, but I am here for it!
On the other hand we have DC that is how many years into just trying to tell a coherent story and failing?

DC was trying to run before it could crawl.

My God that sucked.
Yes it was painful. In large part because the actor playing Kang was very cringeworthy. And mumbling while eating an apple the whole time. The end result of a multiverse war unleashed is exciting though.

You're probably about to get your pick of Kangs
