So disney will respect the source material for movies like Aladdin, Mulan etc, and cast people who actually look like the the Asian and Arab characters from the cartoons and stories?

But we're getting a black Ariel that looks nothing like the movie we grew up with?

They’ve done all of the European ones, we’ve had a middle eastern one, Chinese one, Russian one, and Pacific Islander. Pochantos took care of North America and Princess and the Frog filled that other quota.

Would mind seeing a South American one if they could tie her into Mayan/Inca/Aztec culture. That would make an incredible live action remake in 2043.

South America is such an untapped setting for a great live action/adventure movie they doesn’t involved drugs or a drug lord. Hope Disney does well with their Jungle Cruise movie.

3 things:

1.)Where is Mushu?

2.)Isn't she supposed to pretend to be a dude?

3.) Should be played by a black tranny. . .missed opportunity

Could be good, but doesn’t look like the fun movie the original was.

I wouldn't call the original a "fun" movie. It definitely had comic relief, but they showed the aftermath of the rape and murder of women and children.

The most it showed in regards to that was the burnt down village and a child’s doll. Where did you get rape from anyway? Did you just insinuate that since it was a wartime atrocity?

The movie was largely humorous. The songs lively and fun.

It was a Disney movie. It was definitely a fun movie.

It didn’t look like an Ang Lee inspired film.

No shite.

Do you think kids thought they were insinuating that rape occurred?

All they showed was a burnt village.

Is there anything left to base a new princess on?

Well... Disney just acquired Fox. Which owns the Aliens franchise.

That is right. We already have our next Disney Princess lined up and she has concentrated acid for blood.

Where the frick is Mushu and when did fricking Mulan become crouching tiger hidden dragon?

In the movie, Mulan does turn into a badass that can at least hold her own at training camp.

This will probably be the first and only Disney live-action remake of an animated film that I go and see.

It was a very dark movie. The Hun leader was scary as hell for a kids movie.

And I'm sure kids didn't infer murder and rape, but it was pretty clear for adults who know anything about the Huns.

It also had a ton of levity. I hope the next trailer has a lot more humor in it

Kids films can't be serious? Did you never watch Avatar: The Last Airbender?
