Jungle Book
Which one?

There have been something like 8 remakes of that movie.

I only recognize this one:

I mean, you get great action, a decent romance plot that makes sense in the story, an excellent villain played by none other than the Dread Pirate Roberts himself, and all the Disney animal characters (King Louie, Balou, Sher Kahn, etc) projected into live action in a way that still feels like real life yet magical.

Is that the one with Lena Headey? It has held up decently.

Since all the animated movies are being made live action I want to see an animated Gone with the Wind, Ben Hur, Citizen Cane, Cooll Hand Luke, The Ten Commandments, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Searchers

They're making a movie based on the story of Hua Mulan.

Then why are they still using many characters created for the cartoon?

People have bitched about making live action versions of these movies from the get go, but no one ever bitches about scene for scene remakes of Disney movies when they do make them.

Beauty and the Beast was almost universally enjoyed by this board

Exactly. That was my point.

No one bitches when Disney makes great adaptations of their animated movies.

There were complaints about the concept of making them at the start, but no one bitches about shot for shot live action remakes.

That is absurd.

Uh. The live action BatB was shite on because of Emma who couldn’t act or sing. And then there was the “gay” scene which was hardly noticeable but you had poliboard freaks make their way over here for it.
