If they can keep the dark tone to the film from the animated version and don't water it down, I think it could be the best quality of the live action Disneys.

So now we’ve entered the “live action remakes of classics” era in Hollywood?

I’ve been saying for a while that this live action remake made the most sense. It’s about people for the most part...not talking animals (other than Mushu)

Is there anything left to base a new princess on?

Probably but they can’t think of one. Easier to just remake them all.

This.

Could be good, but doesn’t look like the fun movie the original was.

It looks like any generic Ang Lee film.

I don’t think it’s a lack of creativeness, I just think they’re too afraid to make a big investment in something untested and original. Play it safe and just reintroduce an already established idea instead of taking a risk.

It looks like it needs to be PG13. I didn't think kids movie when I watched that trailer.

Neither did I.

It looks like an Ang Lee movie.

Even the animated movie wasn’t that over the top with the fights.

They hit big with Tangled, Frozen and Moana, probably just taking their time.
