They also changed a line in "Poor unfortunate souls" sung by Ursala. They changed the line "men don't want to hear you talk, what is idle prattle for?" Reason? They said it told girls not to speak up for themselves????????????????????????

This is so fricking stupid. Let's look at the lyrics:
I've bolded the parts I think people could potentially (stupidly) have issues with. But the whole point is body language speaks volumes and it doesn't take a word to know if she's okay with it because you can tell that she is. And the part about "She don't say a word and she won't say a word until you kiss the girl" is quite literally the entire point of the movie...she has to get him to kiss her within a finite timeframe so that she can speak. So she has to use body language to show him that she is interested.
The woke idiocy and pearl-clutching these days is stupid, but this one is beyond that. It's quite literally the main plot point of the entire movie (get him to kiss her so that she can speak and "be human" forever).
People suck.

Isn’t the context of the song that they’re a bit desperate to get him to kiss her so that, you know, she doesn’t get turned into a husk from her contract?
Also, it’s not the Prince singing it. IIRC, he’s shy about kissing her.
Like, I get it, consent is important, but this isn’t the case with this song. I’d get it if the scene culminated with Prince Eric suddenly forcing himself on her because of the song, but SHE is the one trying to initiate the kiss in the scene, multiple times. How is a song trying to get him to reciprocate somehow “rapey”?
Did anyone REALLY complain, or did someone in a board room say, “Hey, someone somewhere might complain about this” and they just ran with it?

All nuance is stripped in the woke world. It was clear to me as a child that Ursala was trying to manipulate Ariel into signing the contract.
Changing Kiss the Girl is so dumb it isn't even worth discussing.
