It's on HBO Max for those who have it. One of my favorite 80s science fiction/fantasy movies.

This movie always makes me laugh.

My brother and I had a few home made throwing stars we played Krull with.
One was a bunch of nails taped together, most were outboard motor water pump impellers.

I don't know what it is about Krull but I loved watching it growing up.

Loved that damn movie. I sucked at the arcade game, but it got my quarters, all the same.

The movie has everything:

Cyclops
Wizards
Telekinetic ninja stars
A would-be king with fire hands
Flying horses
Giant fricking spider
Liam Neeson
Awesome score

Because what I said about the home made throwing stars. Back then, we thought that was the krull. I don’t remember what they’re really called, but I remember throwing them things all over the place killing imaginary demons.

The movie is cool.

It took me until I was an adult to realize that Krull was the name of the planet and not the monster. Shows how much I paid attention to narration and dialogue as a kid. Idiot

It's original. It didn't try to follow in the footsteps of other blockbuster movies and was unique in its look and design.

Excalibur and Dragon Slayer also fall into that category. Great timeless movies which stand on their own. Not part of some studio push to make a franchise, just good solid entertainment.

Regarding the score, and it is magnificent, do some research and checkout how long James Horner had to write it and record it. Absolutely insane.

Don't forget Robbie Coltrain.

Special shout out to Ken Marshall for somehow pulling off these pants, through the whole movie.

Which is why there are so many similarities between the Krull score and that of The Wrath of Khan.
