That's an interesting take from what I have posted. Pretty sure I have traction considering somehow I was a part catalyst for this whole sticky and directive.

Let's make a deal, I will stop posting on M/TV if you and SEK do the same. Seppuku for sake of the board.

Or do you only care about your simpleton takes and need to flood the board?

I don’t know. Have you asked the Help Board? The Admins are pretty responsive normally.

My question was simply pointing out a curiosity instead of an actual question needing answered.

It's pretty clear it was removed because it was deemed political because, like I stated, the second thread I posted was deleted and then this thread about keeping politics off the board was started shortly after.

Lmfao. Of course this thread gets 12 pages of crying instead of reading the OP, and moving the frick on.

Blame Kaiju’s deranged arse if you want. shite was getting intolerable and mucking everything up.

I don't know or care about you in any way. I'm definitely not making any deals with you.

If this rule stands and is consistently enforced this board will be dead soon anyway.

It's going to be fun watching some of you get confused about what happened here.

Hollywood personalities rarely ever claim their movie or show is political so surely we'll still have loads to discuss here.

They do it all the time.

Andor - “scurrilous take on trumpian world” quote from the actress / team

And we are being censored for discussing it this site will die from the woke mind virus as well

How are you censored because you need to pick and choose where discussions belong? Topics or boards?

Oh noes, the oppressed PT'ers and censorship. You're the victims, little peeps.

All the crybaby PT'ers truly showing why this board needed a fricking cleanup.

Just for clarification. If a movie or show makes a political point we should discuss the movie on the political board from here on out?

What doesn’t make some kind of point that many or either side or both sides would consider political?

Political can be defined very narrowly like discussions on legislation, elections, govt policy, political speeches, and so on; or it can be stretched to touching a lot of topics across every day life or somewhere in between. Even policy debate ends up being a part of every day life once it’s passed/decreed and then enforced on people. Movies and TV shows constantly have themes that are reflective of their politics or about topics that are part of political debate when made or were for the period a show or movie is showing.

Thanos discussions would go bye bye…, but seriously I am glad that tv shows and movies pushing trans, pronouns, climate change, Ukraine, palestine, abortion, and women’s sports will no longer be discussed here.

Wait. Y'all made women's sports political? How? Is this just a list of things you don't like?

Why can't people post, ""I agree/disagree with race swapping in Ariel because the original character is white and so is the singer/ it's a made up fictional character" without adding "you fricking groomer/trumpkin/dem shill/shitlord!"

Because .. the Internet?

I do wish there were more decorum, but I'm not sure we can do it fairly without, like 58 said, policing it ourselves.

If Salmon is right, then this is no big deal. But the OP is not "Keep pointless namecalling and bickering off this board," it's "Keep Politics off this board"

And apparently, in an inconsistent manner. Somehow there are still threads on the first page about shows that the creators explicitly have stated are political commentaries. This clearly flies in the face of what Chicken said in the first three posts of this thread.

This isn’t going to work.

Politics has infected art.

It’s infected film.

It’s ridiculous to ask someone to not comment on it when it’s spattered into every movie.

If nearly every movie is infected with politics there won’t be anything to discuss on this board

The issue is y’all make every movie about politics, and not the actual movie itself.

I appreciate the point, but where do we draw the line. For example, if a movie is about the civil rights movie, I
don’t think we need an entire thread arguing about race relations instead of discussing the merits of the film…

Apparently there was a hostile takeover on this board by a Karen

I don't care either way, for what it's worth. I do think, however, when actors/directors/producers/etc. are telling us "this is political" we can't really remove the politics from the conversation when discussing the show/film. Ending the barrage of anti-Disney posts every time it's mentioned? Sure, whatever. But we should not curb discussion of intent, especially when everyone involved has already talked about it, only because some don't understand how to click the back button

movies inject politics and we aren’t allowed to criticize them because it’s an election year and we can’t have the pendulum swinging back

The majority of Hollywood openly admits to injecting their politics into everything they do now

Their views can't stand on merit so you have to censor

Some clown world stuff going on
