God, how I hate that bitch.
Couldn't stand her on SNL; she alone was one of the primary reasons I stopped watching it completely. None of her bits or characters were funny, and her political BS was overwhelming.
Now Verizon has her in their commercials, and she is still smarmy and SO annoying in them. Of course they are being shown ad infinitum during NFL games, which seems a dumb choice. As a middle age male-- the prime NFL demographic-- I prefer back in the old days when we had ex-jocks shilling for Lite beer, rather than leftist carpet munchers trying to sell me phone service.

Yep. Great performer, not funny. I think Kate could do decent as a dramatic actress, but comedy writer, no.

Yeah, I liked that performance from her. It wasn’t pure venom at Sessions like Baldwin’s was for Trump. They realized that could just actually be funny, and while they tarred him as a backwoods redneck, it seems more out of the mold as Will Ferrell’s Janet Reno. Baldwin’s Trump just isn’t funny.

McKinnon's talent is undeniable and she is easily the most versatile and probably best SNL cast member of the last 5-7 yrs (which isn't saying much), but she has no lane other than what she currently does.
She can't carry a movie, she can't carry a sitcom, and she absolutely can't pull off a dramatic role because she always has to have the "I know this is a joke, and you know I know this is a joke" vibe going in her act.
That works great for SNL, but it's off-putting in just about every other form of media other than Broadway and pitching products with a smirk.
But it doesn't matter. She and Keenan Thompson are going to be on SNL basically till they die or the show goes off the air.

She's not great, and really needs a funny concept to get her going, but she's also not horrible. Comfortably mediocre, good third or fourth banana but won't carry a film on her own.

I only really know her from trying to watch Ghostbusters. Prior to the movie coming out, she was getting really good reviews.
But she and Leslie Jones' characters had me give up on it about halfway in. The script being a blatant ripoff of the original didn't help either.

I normally find her annoying. She was funny in Office Christmas Party.
