And it was actually supposed to be more comedic.

I doubt that would have helped. Showing a parademon with no background was completely out of place. Should have started with some backstory for steppenwolf

why hire a director and not let him direct

This is what I'm so pissed about. When this whole DCEU or whatever got started in 2014 with the announcement of Batman vs. Superman, the suits said that they were going to give directors the leeway they needed to complete their respective visions. Three years later they are making Snyder and Whedon both film these movies with one arm tied behind their backs.

Warner Bros. and their executives are the kings of overreaction. I understand why they felt the need to micromanage after the "disappointing" box office returns of Dawn of Justice, but that doesn't mean they needed to micromanage every aspect of production.

Yes. This board was firmly behind Snyder going full Snyder on these films.

So fire him from the project and go with someone else.

There was still time after Batman v. Superman to let him go and start over. It was stupid to let the man continue directing, turn in a finished project, tell him thanks but no thanks, and then do a bunch of rushed re-writes and re-shoots to make the film "more relatable" to audiences.

Never been in to comics, so don't really consider myself a "fanboy" of either company, but although JL wasn't a bad movie, it still doesn't compare to most of the Marvel movies. I know I'm in the minority but I enjoyed GotG2 and Thor: Ragnarok much more than JL. Not sure what it is that throws me off. Maybe it's that I'm not a big Affleck fan. Or maybe it's the fact that Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor was the worse casting in the history of movies. I mean you have the same guy that portrayed Mark freaking Zuckerberg playing the arch enemy of Superman. Ridiculous.
And since my kids have to take a bathroom break every 30 mins, I missed the scene in the previews showing Alfred with the surprise visitor. I'm assuming it was Superman?

Just saw it yesterday.

Overall good popcorn film. I however, have one question.

Were there parts in the movie where Superman was CGI'd in? His face looked crazy off from time to time.

Agreed. Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League is reportedly three hours long. The suits at Warner Bros. had Joss Whedon do extensive editing and re-shoots to get the run time down to under two hours.

There is an online petition that has over 100,000 signatories demanding that Warner Bros. release Snyder's cut of the film.

I'm surprised to be saying this but I don't feel like I will ever have seen the true Justice League movie until Snyder's cut is released in either theaters or on Blu Ray.
They cut a lot out of the film! LINK

Wrong, they did CGI his face because of a mustache.

Might want to get your eyes checked baw if you couldn't see it was different.

He's saying you even asking was a troll, dipshit. "Mustachegate," as you've called it, was and is widely known and has been discussed on this board and in this thread many times.

Might need to get your brain checked for stupidity.

That scene wasn't in the movie. I figured it would be a post credit, but it wasn't that either.

Supposedly (unconfirmed) there was a scene where Superman stops at the Batcave to get an update on the situation, and then flies off to Russia. That was the point where Alfred had a scene with Superman.

Saw this Sunday and it wasn't nearly as bad as BvS. With that said...

--While I didn't mind jumping right in and trying to capture a parademon at the beginning of the movie, the theif seemed angry instead of afraid, the flying battle somehow magically ended up on the exact same rooftop it started on and by the end of it the their and Batman are chatting more like confidants. The thief should have been shitting himself like the first one in Keaton's first Batman movie.

--With the Avengers you didn't really need to see any of the other Marvel movies to get enough background to follow what was going on. In Justice League you do as it jumps right into Bruce having done all the investigations on those he wants to pick for the League and he and Diana have already discussed them.

--The CGI for Steppenwolf's face was shite. Most of the video games today have better CGI. Speaking of CGI, I had not followed "moustachegate" at all so I was wondering why Cavell's face looked so fricked up in the corn field. It seriously looked like another actor was doing a stand-in.

--The fight with Steppenwolf had good and bad points. Some of the action scenes with him fighting WW and Khal Drogo were great, he was holding his own against two very powerful opponents, but then suddenly just one of them would be holding their own against him. That kind of imbalance takes me out of the fantasy of it unless there's some additional factor that's introduced to allow the once-weaker character to now be an even match.

--Although Barry should be blonde, this take on him was really fun. I came into the movie expecting to hate the frick out of this Flash but instead I came way enjoying him.

--Mamoa's Aquaman was a definite break-out. I hope he gets much more of a Wonder Woman movie than a Batman v Superman movie. The only gripe here is he should at least be kicking his feet or something while swimming so damned fast.

--The Superman v League fight had some really good moments, the "Oh... shite..." look on Barry's face when Clark starts turning to look at him was brilliant.

--The Cyborg CGI was bad. At times his forearms looked modeled from a 12yr old anorexic. The tiled plates looked like crap, they would have been better off going with the look he wound up with at the end of the movie (which is a frickton lot closer to the comic).

--I liked the post-credit scenes (the race was just fun, the Lex scene was a good setup for another movie... except that Eisenberg is still playing Lex) and that cover of "Come Together" was fricking bad-arse.

--All-in-all it wasn't a bad movie, but it's still a far cry from what Marvel puts out.

I enjoyed this movie.
It had it's issues but it was closer to Marvel entertainment than some of the past movies.

Wonder Woman is the only thing holding this universe together. Her movie was solid and she was underutilized in Justice League.

Lex Luthor casting decision was awful.

My current view is that Man of Steel didn't do much for DC movies, BvS was a step back, Suicide Squad was two steps back, and Wonder Woman was three steps forward. Justice League is half a step forward.

If they leave Wan alone for Aquaman, we should be continuing in the right direction when we get to Shazam and WW2.

Baw, my point was this has been talked about for months. Where the hell have you been? Maybe you need to spend more time on the intranets.

Just watched.

I've hated every DC movie in this world other than Wonder Woman and went in expecting to hate this.

After the first 30 minutes or so I was.

But Dammit if it didn't pull me in.

The chemistry between the characters was great, the fighting was superb (despite an overuse of cgi) and the humor was well placed.

I have to admit, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I still think this is a poor rendition of Lois, Clark and Superman, but the movie as a whole was badass.

Consider me surprised.
