Wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. Only real complaints with it are the annoying droid (which didn't stick around long thankfully) and Han choosing helping rebels, over money, but then he does that in IV and V
There were things from some of the old EU books (Xim the despot crystal skull, droid battles, etc) in it so there were people who seemed to care about the series working on it
Still haven't seen 8. Is it worse than solo by a lot?

Solo is easily the best of the Disney Wars movies.

Agreed. It’s a shame it came after TLJ and people were starting to have Star Wars fatigue in addition to people not having much faith in Disney Star Wars products after that debacle

Rogue one is better than solo. But solo is fun.

Your response will probably be the same of “Wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.” The majority of this board jumps at every chance to take it down a peg while the majority of Star Wars fans liked TLJ.

that entirely depends on if you value logical plots and a classic hero's tale v/ a complete deconstruction/destrution of the Star Wars mythos
just know this, Rian Johnson literally seeks out destroying everything "Star Wars" about the movie just to do it
and in the process, he leaves an irrational plot and fails to develop the centerpiece character of the new trilogy. you are forced to accept that she's perfect, powerful, and basically Jesus

That's way too high brow of a response, let me translate.
If this wasn't a movie in a Star Wars universe this would be a terribly written heist movie that would go straight to DVD. But it is a movie in the Star Wars universe, so not only is the movie's core shitty, it takes a shite all over the traditional Star Wars universe and characters while it's at it.
There are some cool visuals, that's about the only positive thing you can say for the movie.
ETA: we're talking about TLJ in case that wasn't clear. Solo is a good, fun movie like you'd expect going to see something Star Wars.

I liked Solo fine and it was better than I anticipated it being.
It was riddled by bad press around it leading to bad numbers. Couple the production issues with Last Jedi being a shite show, yes it is terrible, and people just didn't show up for this one. It is a shame because it is a solid Star Wars film.

I could write a dissertation on why Episode 8 sucks the big one. The bad scenes far outweigh any good ones. It ain’t good.

I disagree. From a visuals stand point, yeah R1 was probably better. But I felt the characters in Solo were better written. They had fewer characters, (and most of them people already know), so there seemed to be fewer blank slates than in rogue one, with R1s main exception being discount Jan Ors
I also feel like Solo had an adventure tone that R1 lacked and holds it back.
Neither are bad, but Solo is a better star wars movie imo

Ha yeah while the cartoons had an interesting plot with Darth Maul, Savage Oppress, Ventress, etc., the appearance of Maul at the end was a stretch. He was sawed in half decades prior. I thought that was just the writers needlessly throwing a bone to some SW fans.

Solo’s plot, while simple, makes sense and it’s characters, while simple, have reasonable motivations.
Neither can be said for TLJ.

Solo was an okay movie. Good at best. Rogue One is pretty good. A little long, but rewatch able. And the last 12 minutes of R1 is awesome!
The Force Awakens is pretty good. It’s worse in hindsight because it means nothing now.
The Last Jedi is terrible. Awful. Steaming pile of vomit filled crap. Just the worst. The Star Wars Christmas special is better than TLJ. Just awful!
