It's not a masterpiece in the vein of The Sopranos or Breaking Bad.
But it's maybe finest guilty pleasure I've ever watched. It was a nice surprise. Raylan and Boyd are two of the best characters and adversaries ever.

Started a first time watch of the show a few weeks ago and have churned out 3 seasons.
Really like the show
Boyd crowder is amazing.

Wtf. Justified is not as good as either of those shows you mentioned but It is definitely a “prestige” TV show. Guilty pleasure is a term used for say “The Bachelor”. Justified is a damn good TV show

I wouldn’t even classify it as a guilty pleasure; it’s not as literary as The Sopranos or BB could be but it excels beyond most of not all shows in dialogue, sense of place, and character building and acting. The plots are pulpy and a bit over the top but it’s so enjoyable because all the other stuff it does it does so damn well.
I enjoy Justified for much of the same reasons I enjoy Peaky Blinders.

“Man this scene is so intense, can’t wait to see Rayland react to this..”
“ON THIS LONELY ROAD, PISSED OFF YA WANT SOME”
I’m also rewatching it currently

Raylan: Son, are you real smart or real stupid?
Tim: You like the hills, Seabass?
Seabass: No, not really, kind of just pussy versions of mountains.

It’s actually amazing how many people he kills in season 1 and never loses his badge
“Hey that guy whose currently under investigation for shooting someone in Miami, just bodied 3 good ole boys in the holler, and there’s 4 more dead but he says it was someone else who shot them, what do you want to do?”
“Make a snappy quip about him being a wild card and send him on his way”

Utterly disagree.
My god the fricking hot takes in this thread. Breaking Bad and the Sopranos were good (I'd say BB was a tad more consistent), but acting like they are Citizen Kane is laughable. Sopranos especially has some dumbass moments, characters, and entire episodes. Let's not act like a duck stealing his dick is fantastic writing and "subtle". It definitely comes across as a person who's never been in therapy writing about therapy.

I thought it was great how they had that scene come back on him (don't want to spoil too much for the rewatch & 1st timers as this is later in the series).

Justified > Sopranos and BB
If you agree, then you are correct. If you disagree, then you are correct.

that was a six season running ad for kentucky bourbon
the amount of brown water drank on this show was amazing. lots of blantons, i saw an eagle rare one time and plenty of other brands.
you cant get through an episode without pouring one yourself.

I just watched the 1st episode and was 50/50 on it - mainly couldn't get into the production aspect of it and Olyphant's character seemed a little "too cool" if that makes sense. Without spoilers, does it improve as it goes along? I see people rave about it so I'll likely continue watching to see if it grows on me but it didn't grab me like most crime dramas do.

Yes the first season is by far the worst

It gets better as the season progresses and the following seasons are better than Season 1. I will warn you, the Bennett's may get a little annoying (especially Dickie & Coover), but those 2 should not sway you from watching.
