Don’t see anything wrong about his statement.

Yeah, I'm waiting for his list of movie super-villains that are better than Ledger's.

Ledger's Joker is also the GOAT for me as well. Just my opinion.

True. And bashing a comic movie for diffent takes on a character is asinine. Comics have always recycled and reused characters. That's a staple of comics. Every Batman comic is not linear and in the same universe. That's one of the beautiful things about comics.

Yes, but people view movies as a separate thing, not as an extension of the universe.

Most people with negative reactions probably want to see the Joker they've loved on the screen, rather than an Elseworlds or Earth 2 version. When movies can move and shake as much as comics, maybe this goes away.

But this is probably the only Joker for the next few years, so people want some more concrete, more in line with what they know.

Comics can be varied because you can have 2 Joker stories going on at the same time, then, with a new writer, get a new version the next year. That isn't the case with movies.

If this turns out to be a really good movie, it would be kind of cool to have a Joker sequel and maybe introduce Batman in that.

Also, was there any hint in the trailer why he was visiting Arkham?

Yeah, I could see them putting him in future movies depending on this success. But if there are sequels, they must include Batman in some way. He is the perfect foil for him and they can't survive without each other. Like another poster said, it would be awesome if an end-credits scene introduced the next Batman/BW.

i mean, literally every single joker that has appeared on screen has been pretty different than the previous version

No one likes the Leto Joker.

Romero and Nicholson Jokers are pretty close.

Ledger is an outlier, and one I don't prefer. Great performance. Very good movie. His Joker was meh.

Hamill is the GOAT Joker. By a big margin. And he's the most classic.

I think this is it for Phoenix. Also, Bruce is in the trailer. He's just a kid here, so there's a major age gap in this universe.

There's a lot going on in this thread.

The trailer was just meh for me. I'm not going to trash anything based off of it. Joker is my favorite badguy of anything ever so I want it to be the greatest thing ever.

It didn't blow me away though.

Romero embraced the role so fully that he wasnt even willing to shave his mustache.

We weren't living in a digital media world, so it wasn't really noticeable. It was more trivia than a distraction.

Now you can look back at remastered old movies and see where the wig mesh was glued to the scalp.

I mean not really.

i'd probably say that if you combined the two you'd get Hamill's joker. but the goofy 60s joker that breaks out of prison with a spring isn't the same as nicholson's joker who tries to poison half a city with blimps.
