I'm afraid to watch the movie because of all the universal praise and hype, like if it's not the best movie I've ever seen I will be disappointed.

Don’t be. Watch it: it’s fricking excellent.

I watched about 15 years ago for the first time and was worried about the same thing. But I watched it and was legit blown away at just how great it actually is. It is worth every bit of the hype. It’s that good.

Round up the usual suspects.

The greatest movie ever made.

It helps that the movie was made during the actual war without a known conclusion to the war. The feelings and reactions were visceral and real. Can’t really fake or act it. I was amazed at how great it was when I first watched a few years back. Enjoy!

I just saw it for the first time a couple months ago

it's 100% worth the hype and I enjoyed the movie so much that it's become one of my favorites.

Truly spectacular

that's part of why I think it's a great film

you will like it even if you don't like old/classic movies

yea I believe real French refugees were in the bar singing and that's what adds to all the emotion.

They're country was occupied, it wasn't clear who was going to win the war or if they'd ever go home. You see the pride on their faces

Whoever did the lighting on Bergman deserved an award..

I'd say her mom and dad deserve the award for producing such a beautiful woman.

You mean a movie that came out in 1942 might not live up to the hype in 2025….

Watch the movie, it’s good.

I've seen it more times than I can remember and it still holds up. It's in my top 5 movies of all time, along with The Godfather, Chinatown, On the Waterfront, and The Wizard of Oz.

I am one of the least serious people you will ever meet. My favorite movies are usually spoofs or dumb comedies. “Casablanca” is one of the best movies ever made. It’s a masterpiece. I love it so much.

Watch it. It's a movie that's deserving of it's reputation.

This is the answer I always give when people ask what is the most overrated movie I’ve ever seen. It’s a fine movie, but nothing special. There are plenty of other films for that time period that are better.

I rewatched it for the first in about 30 years the other day. I appreciate now more than I did when younger. I think it's a perfect movie in terms of pacing. Something overlooked in a lot of films. It keeps you engaged the entire movie. I can't think of a point where you can turn away because you always seem on edge with the authorities and seemed tense with the personal relationships and decisions between the characters.

It felt like a quick watch.

One of the times the hype was actually warranted.

One of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
