My issue is that I really don't give a shite about any of the characters in this new bunch. First class was a really good kick off point. I didn't care for DoFP but it was more the premise than the movie. It was well done, gave some fan service by bringing in original people with new.
Apocalypse was just a mess from the start. It never had a chance to be good because it was so bad from the get go. Sophie Turner is a pretty shitty actress, the kid who plays Summers is a pretty shitty actor for what Ive see. I won't be going to see this one in the theater and I would be really surprised if it is anything better than really bad.

Anyone who asks me if they should watch it, I just say, "Google Quicksilver and mansion". Best scene in the movie, and it isn't even close.

I find that one to be middle of the pack. Better than apocalypse, x3, or wolverine origins, but that’s it.
DoFP and Logan are the top ones in the franchise to me.

I'd throw X2 into a "top movies of the franchise" list.
Logan works the best as a standalone movie. You only need a rudimentary knowledge of who the characters are and the number of characters that have a history with the viewers is narrowed down to 2.

They kept going back and forth with it in the comics.
Original version was that she was flying a space shuttle unshielded during a solar storm then, when the shuttle crashed into Jamaica Bay, she popped out as Phoenix then passed out.
They retconned it later when they wanted to bring Jean back, making the Phoenix an entity which took her place while she was in suspension within Jamaica Bay. The reasoning was that Dark Phoenix had committed genocide and that there was no way back from that just by giving her a psychic lobotomy.
They’ve probably retconned it multiple times since then but I quit giving a shite.

The problem was Apocalypse starts off unstoppable and killing people with sand. Then by the end of the movie he’s just some guy.

I give a ton of credit to Ryan Reynolds. It’s like Jackman said he’d come back if they let him do a gritty send off to the character, and they made the “R” rating work with Deadpool, and what followed was really an amazing movie.

Out of all the X-Men movies in the franchise, I think the only ones I enjoyed were The First Class and Logan. The rest are sorta half guilty pleasures that I'll watch for a little bit on TNT or whatever they play on. But for the most part, they all suck. For all of the hype days of future past got, I thought minus wolverine, it sucked as well.
