It was not as bad as The Last Jedi, but the effect was the same.

It’s only saving grace is that it introduces Jean as the dark Phoenix. Let’s see if that movie delivers though

In the comics she is just hit by solar flares and it unleashes her powers. I think they said this Phoenix is a separate entity. I could be wrong.

And, frankly, I was pretty much here after X3 (just awful). I still haven't seen First Class, so I'll give that one a pass on the word of Deuce Midnight.
But, other than that - I've been done with X-Men.

Yeah, they retconned that ridiculous story some time back, but I pretend that didn't happen.
(Real) Dark Phoenix saga, you know "back in the day" was some of the best comics ever. All the tweaking and retconning since is silly.

Apocalypse the character. Oscar Isaacs acting. McAvoy. Fassbender. The shoehorned Phoenix Powers. Quicksilver.
Total trash movie on par with X3, but without Hugh Jackman to carry the clusterfrick.
And fox will doubly down with this ungodly horrible looking Dark Phoenix. I’m glad they lost all the rights to the X-men titles.
The first two X-men movies were solid and Logan stands as one of the best superhero movies ever written and filmed. Anytime they tried to go big though was a huge swing and a miss.

Sophie Turner is bland as frick, this new X-men is going to blow too. No point in going see it with Disney throwing everything out and starting over.
