I think releasing The Last of Us numbers was a brag, which is understandable, it was pretty impressive. I don't know if HBO even shows actual numbers of their animated shows. Harley Quinn is extremely popular and I've never seen its viewership. I think saying "most watched animated movie premiere" is enough for them. No matter what the numbers are, even if it's the most watched, isn't going to seem that impressive in comparison to their live action shows.

Well at least we finally have a show that you can rage and hate about being woke that actually appears to be woke to an extreme.
What happened to you?

Is WB lying? Claims Velma is a MASSIVE hit!
actually they didn't claim it was a massive hit on that twitter post. it just said it was the #1 trending animated series on HBO Max that day.
which was true, because HBO max doesnt have a lot of animated series and it was certainly the only one released that day. hell it would probably be number 1 just from people accidentally double tapping select on their remote to launch HBO App and it being plastered as the top show.
why waste time with a 10 minute video over this?

exactly. it's not even complicated. it's just basic PR. not some big conspiracy theory

The Cartoon Network hub on HBO doesn't count?
Here is a better question...Why did HBO spend money on this garbage, but scrap the well loved and received Infinity Train?
Is this the direction of Discovery channel type management?

Velma?
There won't be reliable Velma numbers for 4 weeks, as it is streaming only. Not that a streaming only animated show should be compared to the two biggest blockbuster live-action shows HBO has produced since Game of Thrones.
If the numbers suck, can we move on? No one in here seems to be arguing with you about this show.

Better 10 (9:42) minutes than 10 episodes of Velma.

Well that's true. But who was planning to watch velma in the first place that is older than 10?

I guess they imagined everyone? It’s not made for kids. But it’s also not made for anyone else either.

I have never seen an imdb rating as low as this before. I am sure there are lower scores. I have just never seen it.

Who is embracing anything? You’re getting bent out of shape over one single thumbnail, which is itself a response to that which many outright reject. The race swapping & disrespect of established lore. It is a humorous commentary about the characters existence, and the show overall.
My God, would that you show 1/10 of this manufactured outrage over actors and political figures appearing in black face or dressed up an actual klan outfits.
