I hope not.

I think Jamie dies to save Brienne, or Brienne is under duty to kill him.

Jon and Sansa marry and Jon is killed in combat.

The Mountain is killed by Arya.

Littlefinger somehow gets the Iron Throne.

I can't tell if Sansa is about to go all-in on the evil side with LF or if she will hint at it, but at the last minute be the one that kills LF

the latter is the cliche story, but Sansa going all evil and becoming the next Cersei just doesn't sit well with me

There's a YouTuber who has also said that he think Euron will burn down the Citadel in the books and the show- I can see it happening

Alt-Shift X made a good point that the "prize" may be Tyrion

I just don't see how. He's surrounded by the largest army in Westeros right now AND three dragons.

This would be completely unsatisfying. Clegane bowl would be much better way for him to go.

Wish we could see him take out the stupid sand snakes, but that honor is probably Euron's.

the Hound comes in at the last minute to save Arya from the Mountain and in the end, sacrifices himself while at the same time killing the Mountain

If they had been able to really capture the book Dolorous Edd in the show, I would absolutely love to see a lot of Edd/Hound interaction. The conversations they would have could be so great.

D&D said the book and show will end the same we will just get there differently in the show vs the book.

I think the show ending will be far closer to the book ending (at least, the ending as communicated to Dave and Dan) than a lot of people think.

I mean, Varys is a big, big game changer in the books that he hasn't been on the show, to where aside from a final battle with the Others and Jon sitting on the Iron Throne, I expect the end to be very different.

Gendry doesn't matter. There's two prominent big magic bloodlines in the series Stark (Ice) and Targaryen (Fire).

Baratheon has some Fire in it since a cousin of Aegon I dethroned the original storm king and since then the targs and baratheon commonly interwed with great grandparents of gendry providing a recent infusion.

Gendry's only point in the show was to alleviate casting and torturing a boy because all he's doing in the book is running an Inn/ with the brotherhood without banners but he and the boy both had the Fire.

Melisande is pretty point blank in both the show and books that Shadow (Ice) and Light (Fire) are the same thing in the Lord of Light.
Jon or Dany would be much better power sources for someone like her. Hell the Wall itself is a huge wellspring of magical energy.

That wouldn't be bad.

Maybe, i'm not confident though - depends on which direction the show goes with.

That hasn't crossed my mind... but I could see that crazy fricker doing it. That would be a ridiculous blow for all of Westeros if he burnt the Citadel and probably take them back to the literal dark ages.

When's the last time a well-regarded HBO show didn't have a solid conclusion to the show?
