and nobody has mentioned Austin Powers

I thought about it. It's first rate. Just didn't know if I would put it above Hangover. Now that I think about it, I probably would. Both really had a big impact on comedies but Austin Powers is more rewatchable, quotable, memorable, and an all around better viewing experience though it does require (for me) to be in a certain, slapstick kind of mood.

Tropic Thunder

Jesus. No.

Wedding Crashers
Old School
Borat
Dumb and Dumber
Superbad
Super Troopers
Step Brothers
40 Year Old Virgin
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
I Love You, Man
Knocked Up

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of golden ones. Tropic Thunder has funny moments, but its not close to these other flicks.

Take out McLovin and the rest of the movie is average at best.

I actively wanted the fat kid to get hit by a bus.

McLovin is the worst part of the movie.

Tropic Thunder is fricking hilarious. RDJ crushed it. I could watch that movie every week.

He's funny for sure. And definitely my favorite part of the movie.

I think Tom Cruise is stupid though. "OMG Tom Cruise in a fat suit cursing a lot! How hilarious!". His part was not clever at all.

I thought he did a great job of satirizing the movie mogul. It was a dig at guys like Weinstein and he was great at it.

If we going GOAT and Major League, Airplane, Harlem Nights or Caddy Shack ain't on that list then your list is fake. How old is Friday? Talladega Nights. These got my votes. The more I watch Tropic Thunder though the funnier it gets

Also an underrated comedy is Due Date. When he punches that kid in the gut is pure gold. Cuz come on who here hasn't wanted to punch some little snot nosed drug dealers boy in the stomach. I think we all been there

The Hangover gets way too much love. I like it and it's funny but it's not what most people make it to be. The Big Lebowski, Anchorman, Old School, Tropic Thunder, The Waterboy, Hot Fuzz, Austin Powers movies. All funnier than The Hangover.

TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE
Galaxy Quest (1999)
Office Space (1999)
Old School
SuperTroopers
Wedding Crashers
Dodgeball
Superbad
40 YO Virgin
Knocked Up (but frick that bitch Heigl)
Meet The Parents
Something About Mary
Anchorman
American Pie
Shaun of the Dead
Harold and Kumar
Bad Santa
Out Cold

Does In Bruges count? Because that was way funnier than Hangover.

All of those over Hangover.

I will admit that (in the theater) I laughed harder at The Hangover than I'd laughed at any movie since seeing Caddyshack in the theater for the first time.

But I doubt that I've watched it all the way through for a second time.

And I haven't bothered to see the sequels.

Anchorman

Anchorman gets extra points for being so incredibly quotable. There are dozens of lines in that movie I use at least once a year.

"Milk was a bad choice."
"As they say, when in Rome", "Yes, please continue".
"By the beard of zeus".
"They can smell the menstration".
Afternoon Delight
"I love lamp"

And we all know tons more. I think I can quote at least 1 line from every scene in the movie, and I haven't watched it in the last 5 or 6 years.

Sure but Talladega Nights way more quotable. The Sex panther quote is the best one and the one i hear the most.

p. 2

It has its moments but not enough jokes and some that fall flat. There's Something About Mary, Austin Powers ('97), Office Space, Big Lebowski, Borat (screw you Borat haters on this board)....all beat it. So good argument for 6th best in last 20 years, which is kind of sad.

Hot Fuzz obliterates The Hangover in terms of being funny, and it's not even close.
