The only words spoken in the commercial are English. But I thought I read on here it’s not.

its in Best Picture of the Year.

It's in Korean. And although it's good, please temper your expectations. It has no business being the most highly rated movie since The Godfather.

I thought it was a good movie. But far from best picture, even for just this year.

Based on which metric?

i thoroughly enjoyed Parasite and would be ok with it winning BP, though it likely wont.
genuinely curious, what do you think will win? im partial to Once Upon a Time, but think 1917 is the winner.

There's a surprising amount of English words and phrases uttered in their conversations. Part of it was the rich mom trying out some phrases for the English tutor, but in regular conversations there was English peppered here and there.

If it’s not in English, it’s going to win.

It’s the best movie I’ve seen in some time. I’m still surprised at how good it was.

Good job having a real pulse on the Academy, who has voted exactly one and a half non-English language films to Best Picture in its 90-year history. The one being a silent with no spoken language and the half being half of an historical epic that won in 1988.
So, I'm sure Korea is going to go from having never been nominated in a single Oscar category, including Best Foreign Film, to having a Best Picture win just because Parasite is not in English. You called it!

You're a fricking retard.
Outside of maybe 1917, this is BY FAR the best movie of the year. Not even close. I can't imagine how bad your taste in movies are.

But, I just can’t relate to this at all. I thought Parasite was an absolute lock as a top film this year and should be strongly considered for best picture. 1917 is probably the favorite but I would love for Parasite to pull the upset. There have been some fantastic films made in Korea for some time now and that deserves to be recognized.

I watch a bunch of foreign films with english subtitles but it’s the Asian movies that don’t leave the words on the screen long enough. The European, Latino, Middle Eastern, and Israeli films are easy to read the subtitles. The Asian movies I can’t read a paragraph in a split second.

Saw this yesterday, I’ve now seen every movie nominated for best picture. Parasite was a great movie with an original story line. Halfway through once they all got in the house I thought “this is gonna end pretty predictably with them getting busted but the rich family feeling bad for them and helping them out”. Boy was I wrong, that ending was wild. However, I have 1917 as BP by a good margin. That movie blew me away

I can't relate to the love for this film. Not trying to bash the movie or anything. I would love to love it as much as everybody else does. I would be very disappointed if 1917 doesn't win Best Picture. Even more than I was when Birdman robbed Whiplash.
