Anyone can change their name and some names are used for both sexes. I have less of an issue with those adjusting to a name change outside of talking about that person’s past (& outside of messing with people trying hard to be offended), but gender/sex is entirely different. If you want to be polite when talking to her face or when talking about a character she plays then so be it, but just because this is the movie board doesn’t mean we all have to pretend that the characters the actors & actresses play on the screen or in life are real.

Might be the most memed movie of alltime.

Troy was a terrible adaptation of The Iliad and the events following it. It’s also a very entertaining movie and one of my favorite director’s cuts. If you dislike Troy and haven’t seen the DC, it’s worth giving it another shot. It’s about 40 minutes of extra footage, a much better use of the score, and another look at Kruger’s arse.

I can forgive Wolfgang Peterson for all the silly changes he made, the most egregious being little bitch Paris surviving the war and keeping Helen, so I’m not too worried about black Helen. She’s a talented actress (she won an Oscar for 12 Years a Slave) who will probably do well with her very limited screen time. She wouldn’t be my first choice, but her race has no impact on the story. Page as Achilles would be worse than Troy’s changes to Paris, but I’m fairly confident it will just be Elpenor, another inconsequential character.

The Troy slander has been too strong in these threads lately. That was a hell of a fun movie, don't care if it didn't follow the original story or whatever.
