I hate to agree with killz, but Deadpool was overrated and overhyped just because of the R rating. It's hilarious how upset people on this board get when anyone doesn't pee themselves over it.

Was probably the best movie I watched from last year... it had humor, did not take itself seriously, and was perfectly acted by Reynolds.

Deadpool was a perfect adaptation of a comic. Those who don't like were never going to because it simply isn't their thing and should have avoided it to begin with.

It's impossible to like the source material and NOT like the movie, because it was on point.

What products are really suitable for this treatment, from a comic standpoint - at least with any sort of built in fanbase?

Hard to avoid the coolest funniest omg-est movie ever according to message board fanboys. I don't care about faithful adaptation - no one ever fricking read Guardians of the Galaxy but it was still a good movie.

Don't take offense to this, but I figured the movie would be right up your alley. In your face action and comedy, that doesn't try to ease into anything.

Thought the humor fit Deadpool. I really enjoyed it, even though it didn't quite live up to the massive hype I saw. But I enjoyed it, and I'm not a super hero movie guy at all.

Not offended. I WANTED to like it but I walked away feeling let down.

Didn't see it in theaters either...everyone blew it up as the best thing ever. I was entertained. It was a damn good comic movie. My wife hasn't seen it yet and we may watch it tonight. It was good. It's Deadpool, I hope you werent expecting some magnum opus...it was damn good and damn entertaining. If you have read the comics, it was a Deadpool movie

I'm not a comic book reader. I prefer actual novels...

But movies are for everyone.

Comics are for lonely loners who sleep in the basement...right?

Technically from the comics, the experiments that gave him the healing facto of wolverine also enhanced his strength and agility to superhuman levels. They didn't specify in the movie but I assume it was the same.

Okay...but how does he accurately shoot a gun (pinpoint on target) while flipping and twisting in mid air? I don't care how agile you are...you don't just wake up one day and flip into the air and shoot targets with deadly accuracy.

That would take years of training. You know, like going to a gym and flipping in the air while holding a gun and attempting to shoot targets.

It would takes years if not a lifetime of practice

Reading this thread and looking at the voting patterns, it's just a bit surreal how many people are upset because some random internet guy thought a movie was slightly above average and explained why in possibly the calmest and most lucid terms kills has ever managed without Valium.

It was a decent movie. Funny. Plot wasn't particularly inspired, and some of the jokes were fairly pedestrian (and worn-out.) Overall, better than most movies in an average year. Still, I've yet to see an analysis that makes a convincing argument for it being even remotely untouchable. You just gotta accept that people here apparently feel very strongly about this issue for some reason, kills.

But that doesn't explain how he can jump 15 feet into the air and accurately shoot people between the eyes while doing advanced (if not superhuman) gymnastics flips and twists.

I'm sure you're ok with Superman flying around shooting lasers out of his eyes then disguising himself by putting on a suit and a pair of glasses. It's a freaking comic book. Enjoy it for what it is and quit trying to take it so seriously.

It's not that they feel very strongly about the issue, it's that they feel very strongly about Kills. Namely, they feel that Kills is an absolute douchebag. So his little bout of contrarianism comes across not as genuine, but as a hackish attempt at doing what he always does: being a trolling douchebag.

So even if he's being honest about the way he feels, no one particularly believes him.
