I loved this show but I guess it had to end eventually. It had to be getting hard to fool even the most hardcore addicts after 13 seasons.

One thing that really stuck with me over the years is that I'm pretty sure of all the addictions, alcoholism killed the most people by the credits update.

Also, was there ever an episode focused strictly on a marijuana addict? I googled and it looks there never was.

There was one.

Guy started speaking and just out of no where another guy claimed that he sucked dick for coke. Apparently the marijuana addict never sucked dick for marijuana.

After a few moments, it got ugly. It was a chaos between the addict and the people in the room.

I think he was trying to make a point. Alcohol killed 4 out of the 6 people that died from that show. They never did one intervention on a "marijuana addict"

I could always pick myself up after a tough day. After watching a few episodes I would feel like a combination of the Pope and Bill Gates.

There is a video gaming addict in season 1. Very awesome. Its kind of absurd. LINK

that sucks. Loved this show, especially ones on alcoholics. They should keep it and get rid of all that hoarder shite and the fake storage/shipping shows.

That show really helped a lot of people. I remember there were some pathetic cases -- one guy was a horrible homeless alcoholic and after he got cleaned up, he had a job doing construction and he looked 25 years younger.

The worst was a guy from Vegas who ran a chain of tanning salons. He was an alcoholic -- they showed pictures of him with his ex-wife before he hit the bottle hard and they looked like real-life Barbie and Ken dolls. He refused to go to rehab and ended up dying not too long after.

The worst one IMO was the guy who was from Florida and/or was a UF fan because I remember seeing him always wear a UF hat. He was alchy and had two young boys I think. Absolutely would not go to rehab until finally I think his young sons crying convinced him to go. He gets to rehab and finds out he has like stage 4 esphogal cancer and dies not long after. Rough episode.

lol, the whole episode is absurd when you think about people with substance abuse issues. Sure, this guy games 15+ hours a day, but he isn't huffing duster, or turning tricks for crack rocks. His face during the internvention is awesome.

Saddest was the guy (90% sure he was an alcoholic) that cleaned up, found out he had a fast acting form of cancer, and died like two months after getting out of rehab. (Oops, didn't see it already posted).

Best was the meth stripper that lived in her parents garage and just freaked the frick out the whole episode, throwing shite around. Ended up going to jail at the end. I know drugs change people but you could just tell with how bad she was, she was almost certainly a bitch when sober.

ETA: I just want Intervention to know that as I look around this thread, I see a bunch of people that love the heck out of it.

Yeah that one tore me up. I believe his name was Brett and his little boy taped a little something at the end where he talked about how happy he was that his dad finally cleaned up and came to one of his basketball games.

that one made me cry like a baby. Watched it several times. You could tell just looking at the guy that he felt so down and out. At least he died sober.
