They waited tooo long! Ford then got tooo damn old now! I been saying that they should have turned this role over to Brendan Fraser years ago, he would have made a good Indy in replacing Harrison Ford. Ford was awesome in the role, but now he's gotten too old for these exhausting energetic depleting stunts that he has to do in these types of movies. I mean he's still Harrison with the quick witted humor, but someone younger should be doing this role now and Fraser was believable as an archaeologist type when he was in the movie the Mummy.

Spoiler: Indy's goddaughter stabs him with her lightsaber and throws him down a bottomless pit.

Wow. But not surprising when the 1 minute clip they released had not one but two irritating SJW lines.

I might not even watch this shite years from now, for free on cable.

I don’t see why this is controversial.

If people here expect to enjoy a film but critics don’t care for it, it’s because critics are pretentious assholes who don’t know how to enjoy films. But if people here expect/want to hate a film and critics also hate it, that’s justification and nothing else.

The only time I comment on it is when the critic score is super high but the audience score is rotten. That's the key element. It's never just the critic score.

Will Rotten Tomatoes give this movie a fake audience score like Rise of Skywalker’s 86% that has never once changed since it’s release?

Her describing herself as charming is the funniest part of the trailer

I don’t understand how any lifelong fans of Lucas Films properties have any faith left that they won’t completely destroy what they loved.

It’s going to be awful.

Until Kennedy is gone, it’s hopeless.

Harrison Ford should just let Disney pay him a billion to film him getting his balls electrocuted for hours and severed.

I’d rather pay to see that than to watch his two most iconic characters murdered.

Man I loved Indiana Jones.
I wanted to be an archeologist because of those movies.

It sucks. But Indiana is dead to me.

I’m willing to bet however this will make some reassess Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones is a franchise much like James Bond.

Nah, it's nothing like James Bond.

Bond would be more akin to a comic book hero, like Superman or Captain America. Much like new writers and artists come in and continue the story, so too did new actors come in and continue the stories of James Bond. Connery, even though he was first, was always just playing his version of a character that had already been established in print.

Indiana Jones is none of those things. Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones, much the same way he IS Han Solo. They 100% WILL recast Indy, just like they did with Solo, but they shouldn't.

Everything that makes the character was put there by Harrison Ford's personality. Sure, other actors could have played the role to start with, but none can now. Anyone else in that role will be a cheap knockoff.

But yeah...Disney will absolutely do this, and it will absolutely fail. Because people can't leave well enough alone.

Oh...and none of this is to suggest there should have been any movies beyond Last Crusade. Had Spielberg and Lucas done more between Raiders and Crusade, great! But they didn't, and they beautifully ended the story there. I'm good with that.

No, he road off into the sunset...LITERALLY...at the end of The Last Crusade. He went on to other adventures, just like he'd had others before Raiders we didn't get to see.

He rode off a hero, and a legend.

Same with Han Solo.

$300M budget....

How much of that budget was the premium of the insurance policy providing coverage of loss should Harrison Ford croak on set?

Not surprising when you know who’s funding Disney. It also explains why they couldn’t care less about box office returns.

Yeah because they made a militant feminist the new Indy protege. Women in the Indy and Star Wars universes should be subservient eye candy.

Huh?
That’s a bad take too. Why does it have to be one extreme or the other? Neither Marion, Willie, nor Elsa were that. Nor was Princess Leia. They also weren’t epic heroines who could do everything the heroes could, but better. How about realistic women with realistic strengths and flaws?
