- Bad Bunny and Daly were great - Maxi tournament was bad. - Rory an awful actor. Scottie did good - Cameos were fun. Didn’t see it mentioned but Boban as that dudes son was hilarious Kinda wild seeing the negative reviews. Was a classic 90s dumb humor movie. I enjoyed it.

Exactly my take in a nutshell.

It's a freakin' Sandler movie, it ain't Citizen Kane, folks. Enjoy it for what it is.

I initially thought they would be parodying Tiger's indoor golf league until they got to the actual courses, which probably could have worked a little better in terms of realism.

What they did with the Maxi Golf League was awful.

They should have played more into something like the Savannah Bananas as a role model for the other league. The CGI whacky courses were terrible.

They needed to create a superior angle to Happy's long ball, so that explains the genetically modified snipped hip tendons. Not sure how they could have worked that into a Savannah Banana type thing, but I agree it needed something different.

Also, how the hell do you put Nick Swardson in a movie and not let him talk or ad lib some shite?

They could have kept that part with the surgery. It was the Maxi League itself that needed rework. Goofy dancing, faster play, different rules to make it more exciting, more realism to a real Anti Country Club Golf league instead of whatever the crap that CGI nonsense we got. You could have totally poked fun at Jessie Cole and the Bananas themselves with it.

I had low expectations after watching the trailer, but I watched it last night and actually enjoyed it.

Like others have said, its an Adam Sandler comedy. It's supposed to be stupid and full of cheap laughs. I re-watched the original a few months ago and yep, still stupid and full of cheap laughs.

Loved all the cameos. Anyone else catch Paige?

Not surprised. I'm not a fan of sequels that take a decade or more after the original to come out.

You mean like Top Gun Maverick? One of the best movies I've ever seen. It just needs to be done right.

It's the comedies that rarely work/never live up to the original... Anchorman 2, Zoolander 2, Dumb and Dumber 2, Joe Dirt 2 (never saw), Happy Gilmore 2.

Sandler did a good job staying on brand with his humor, while also hitting the nostalgia marks, and made a feel good comedy that isn’t all that funny….but did have me smiling for most of its run time. Netflix said they had 85 cameos which is crazy. I found all of the call backs to be well placed and sincere.

The "Happy Place" for an older guy scene cause me to erupt with laughter.

Bad Bunny was fantastic. Stole every scene he was in. But he's usually pretty good whenever he’s on SNL.

It surpassed my initially low expectations, but not by a ton.

I think it was at least somewhat self-aware, which id always good when doing these kinds of nostalgia sequels.

As someone who is a golfer, I appreciated the dig at LIV and the cameos from some of the pros (and John Daly was great), but the average person didn’t get any of that.

I would summarize it as - I won’t remember anything about this movie in a year but I was glad to have committed 2 hours to it and I don’t regret the time I spent watching it.

Finished it. It’s absolutely terrible and I predicted almost exactly what the plot would be after the first teaser trailer was shown last year. This may be the worst Adam Sandler movie to date. Jack & Jill may be slightly worse still
completely disagree. I gave someone shite for saying it was better than the first one, but man this movie was funny.

much better than i had expected.

Same here My kids thought Zalatoris was really the caddie from the original. I looked it up and told them he was born the year the first one came out

Like many in this thread, we enjoyed the shite out of it. I had low expectations, so it surpassed them. I almost fell out of my chair when they killed Virginia. Definitely still so hot

It was fine, my biggest gripe was that it didn’t feel like Happy. It felt like I was just watching Adam Sandler

I’m surprised they didn’t have a flashback of Happy as a kid doing something incredibly stupid that messed up his back and allowed for his long ball.
