The only thing they got wrong in the movie is how long it will take us to get to that point. I think it's happening much quicker than Mike Judge predicted.

I remember when this was made and it got pushed back about a year or two due to the studios refusing to greenlight it to theaters. I'm not sure it ever got a wide release and it was just destroyed by critics.
I have personally loved this movie since the first time I saw it because there is so much truth in it.

Always thought the opening scene was better than the actual movie. Really scary and funny concept.
I think we are heading towards a future like that but it will be split. Where there will be two subspecies one will be very smart and the other barely functional idiots like in Idiocracy.
