I wonder if this was pitched as a follow up to the Offer for paramount and they opted for the movie instead.

Are y’all drunk? He sounds exactly like Stallone and looks exactly like him talking. It’s perfect

When Stallone came out with Rocky IV, some guy who had sent Sly a script sued him saying he used his idea of Rocky fighting a Russian from his script. Sly remembered he had done an interview with the SMU newspaper after Rocky III where he told them the only other movie he wanted to make with Rocky would be one one about him fighting a Russian. He knew he did that interview before the guy even wrote his script.

My buddy was the guy that interviewed Stallone for the SMU article. Because he took some journalism classes at SMU when he was getting a marketing degree, he was Sly's star witness at the trial. Stallone put him up in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the duration of the trial, had his attorney pay for every meal he ate and had dinner with him after the trial was over. He told my friend he was so glad he asked him if Rocky III was the end or could there be more when he did because it was the only time he'd mentioned the idea publicly. I thought it was weird that Stallone didn't tell anyone else on the Rocky III publicity tour about the Rocky fights a Russian idea. My buddy said he's a good interviewer. He used his marketing degree to make a living, but worked a side job, with me covering Cowboy, Rangers, Maverick and Stars games. I let Jeff Russell and Goldie Hawn follow me to the media lounge where Cuban and visiting owners like the Maloof brothers hung out at halftime, but I never got a trip anywhere.

Maybe these same guys can make a sequel about the trail and call it I Saved Stallone! I can't wait for the scene where the friend calls me to tell me about where he was eating that night.

He left his first wife after he made the film and married.
Talia Shire.
Also he didnt work. At all. Infact he would skip out and hunker down in the library reading edgar allen poe.
That is where he wrote his first script.

Everyone thought the dude was a straight bum. Even his wife. Esp. after he pawned the ring and his dog.

Script is very good .... hopefully, the critics don't blast the film and Pete again for Green Book, which they are still made about.

For every Balls Up, Pete still has a poignant, funny and likeable period piece in him (Greatest Beer Run Ever for example)

That was my first thought. Another season of The Offer which is fine by me. I enjoyed The Offer.

First heard the audio of these scenes and thought wow, that’s pretty good. That’s part of his character, not sure why you would just use your normal voice. That would sound weird.

Apparently Stallone has nothing to do with this movie. I read an interview where he said he didnt even know it was being made.

Edit: He ultimately read the script and gave it his blessing. But he isnt involved in any way, not even as an advisor.

So, now we are making movies about a movie from the 70's. I guess it is a big improvement over Batman 26 or Spiderman meets AI monster.
I think I may skip this one and rewatch Tulsa King.
