Ted is Robyn's maid of honor/best man. It can't be his wedding.
Why cant the Grooms be best men to each other for the two weddings?

That's just a bridge too far.

Frick it. The way it has been going they probably would do some complicated shite like that. I just don't see it. Seems like they are giving lost a run for it's money on most complicated show ever.

People are OVERREACTING before we really know anything.
We know Barney is a groom and we know Robin is a bride...it was never once officially said that there are marrying each other.
I wouldn't put it past them to have both weddings at the same time though I have no idea who Robin would marry in that scenario. Just a thought before everyone goes overboard though I see it's already too late for that.
As for Victoria, she's not the mother...we know that. I'm actually kind of happy that Ted's character went after this though. She IS the ex of his that it seemed he may actually have a future with.

I can only react to what they give me and what they gave me was a big shite in my hand so yes im mad about it.
Even if this is all an elaborate plan to trick us, ITS TOO LATE FOR TRICKS AND STORY LOOPHOLES, JUST START EXPLAINING IT. Thats how they got in this mess in the first place

I feel like Robin is supposed to date that guy she met at the department store where Ted buys his red cowboy boots.
Then, Robin sees that guy again at a nightclub (episode where Barney goes out to clubs with his dad pretending to be drunk). After Ted pretends like he proposed to Robin, the guy leaves the nightclub and calls his mom and tells his mom about seeing her again.
Bob Saget even said that we will get to this story later. I feel like this is an unexplored avenue.
IMO, Ted will not marry Victoria. I am not sure about Barney, Robin, Quinn, and the department store guy, but I am sure it will be fricked up.
I think there are two seasons left max. I thought it would just be one more, but tonight may have extended the series even more. At least we know that Ted has a baby daughter in spring 2015, so his wife probably got pregnant in around spring or summer 2014 (and I will assume they got married right around then). Maybe they will end the show with Ted's wedding in 2014. I think that actually makes a lot of sense, but I have no idea how they get there.

I had completely forgotten about that. If they pull that off I haven't given the writers enough credit.

I think that when they said that, they expected the show that guy was on to get cancelled. It didn't, so they replaced him with Kal Penn.

The guy that played that role is on that show with Sarah Shahi on USA.

I've been saying this for the past few seasons (will find the threads to prove it later)..
Barney will Marry Robin
Ted will marry Barney's sister
or someone that is linked together by all the girls Ted has dated, but it will NOT be someone that he has EVER shown to have dated on any previous episode.
I have a strong feeling that the last episode will be this amazing flash-thru of all kinds of previous episodes with "her" in the background or playing some part all-along.
Also worth noting...there are several shots of the final episode already filmed. They did this a few years ago, so that THE MOTHER would be in scenes with Ted's kids as they looked on the first few seasons before they grew up..

I also think it will be Barney's sister. They said she was in college and Ted said his wife was in the class he mistakenly taught. I know it is not Victoria, but I always liked her (and thought she was the most attractive) of all of his girlfriends.
I hope they do something with this that moves his story on. Ted has done nothing the last couple seasons.

Nobody mentioned yet that at tye beginning of episode 2 tonight Ted said something to the effect of it being a terrible day as they cut to Barneys wedding. Just because there is a wedding doesnt mean its going to be a successful one

Isn't the mother name Tracy?
Remember that episode at the strip club, the stripper said actually I'm Tracy and Ted said " And thats how i met your mother"
And they said " WHAT?!!"
So they believed him because he said the mothers name but he was only kidding.
