Someone said in the last thread it would be 4-5 seasons and it makes sense depending on how much "Aftermath" they'll show once the Dance has concluded.
I have high hopes with them filming AKOTSK now that we'll have that to watch next summer while they film season 3 of HOTD so we're on a nice little rotation the next few yrs, but it's just wishful thinking cause I dunno the timeline for it's release.
Also The Red Sowing should've been called The Burning of the Bastards. My girl/friends are Hodors and they're already picking out their favorite dragonseeds. Sweet summer children just don't know

Show runner said this is one of the biggest episodes of HOTD and GOT… we will see.
Talk about overselling the episode. 3/4 of it was putting me to sleep before the dragon flambéed a bunch of bastards.

Because of the universe it's set in, or anything that's actually happened in this show?

It’s crawled to a glacial pace with how they’re stringing this along. I thought they would hit the gas like in season 1 but no dice.

Why didn’t HBO want this season to be 10 eps? Becoming more clear to me that it’s because they wanted to stretch to 4 seasons.
They really need to figure out how to release a season every year or people are going to forget what happened in the show

It’s disappointing for sure because there’s plenty of cool moments to adapt but this filler has gotten tedious

The show is not really succeeding as anything it's trying to be right now. It's not great palace intrigue, it's not a great political drama, it's definitely not an action series.
They added the harrenhall of horrors which has drawn out for so long that most people have forgotten why Daemon is even there.

Man seeing the dragons assemble was so badass but they have got to move this thing along at a better pace. I defended the pace early in the season but here we are at the end and literally nothing has happened. The Dameon thing is just eye rolling at this point
That "Come At Me 'Bro" moment with the Dragons all together.
One of the most understated, but incredible scenes in the series.

quote:Or 5 or 6 or 10. They had this franchise back from the dead with an excellent season 1, and then they pull this shite, as well as changing characters like Daemon to make him look like an insane crybaby rather than the ruthless chad he was last season. There's a short list of theories as to why that is.
Becoming more clear to me that it’s because they wanted to stretch to 4 seasons.
Someone has to throw out some praise to Oscar Tully, though. I don't think anyone has in this thread. Once again, they found a kid who can really pull off what they're going for. He was definitely playing Daemon the first time they met.

I guess my only question now is how does Aemond justify leaving KL vulnerable when he knows that the Blacks are chilling with 5 dragons at Dragonstone?
ETA: or is that the reason why he leaves? Does he know he's just a sitting duck at KL if he stays and so he abandons them? It'll be interesting to see how they paint his motivation for the move to Harrenhal.

Well, he didn't until he saw Ulf the White (That name. LOL!
We then see Ulf clumsily riding Silverwing over King's Landing. (It's lucky they didn't get that dragon-piercing ballista working in time to stop him.) When Aemond mounts Vhagar to pursue them, Ulf and Silverwing flee to Dragonstone where Rhaenyra watches with her new dragon crew behind her. Aemond, usually not one to admit defeat, is forced to turn Vhagar around.
The Three New Dragon Riders
Now he knows they got a squad. He'll have to go to Plan B whatever that is.

I was referring to his future plans to leave KL.

I believe the other poster is referring to what is to come in the books if the show follows the script on things to come. Which now looks like will be next season.

Ah, ok.
If it follows the storyline, won't matter. Clock's tickin'.

Because on its own its a very good show. The only reason people feel a little let down is BECAUSE its the GOT universe and the expectations are so insanely high.
I agree that this season has been pretty sub par for this world and that they are failing to create the intrigue that existed in GOT but if it were its own show without those expectations I think people would be less critical.

He thinks they think he would never leave KL now that he knows they have a lot of dragons so he thinks hes surprising them by leaving. Rhaenyra finds out his plan and takes advantage.

Assuming you mean they won't leave Dragonstone, that's pretty stupid. the goal of Rhaenyra is to sit on the Iron Throne which is KL, he's gotta know that she's gonna make a move at some point now that she has the power.

I agree with Jace. This move seems to be watering down the whole dragon rider mystique.
And, hey, you folks just head into this room where there's a huge dragon and maybe it will let you ride it.
the drunk guy riding a dragon is just dumb.
