I don’t need action scenes every episode.
I'm not complaining like others, but it's only been 1 episode and a little in another.

I'll just wait until the season is over next time and binge the whole thing.
That's the ticket. It would be much better to have it all released at once.

I keep thinking that this show would be so much better if I could binge it. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to wait.

Yeah, I was telling my brother last night that it would come across better to be able to binge it all at once.

I won't wait next season either

Plot was advanced with finding a dragonrider,
That was kind of stupid too. The dragon just 'chose' him.

The person he chose is essentially his original rider/claimant's HALF-BROTHER. Not stupid at all.

Even still, that felt pretty forced and unnecessary. Unless the point is that women are weak and when they are backed into a corner they try to sleep their way to safety. But I don't think that message is accurate or what they intended.
Well, and they already have plenty of gay stuff from the book that they can use. IIRC, Lady Arryn is implied to be a lesbian, and of course, Alicent's brother is a homo.

Also, I'm not sure why, but the writers have made Mysaria more sympathetic in this show. She's kind of a POS in the book.

Seasmoke

Did I miss something or did they have Seasmoke on Dragonstone when he roasted Darklyn?

Odd that they didn't just use Vermithor or Silverwing for that, considering that Seasmoke would have been (and was later) on Driftmark.

Two favorite subtle scenes were Alicent touching Aemon talking about what he suffered in his youth. You can see him thinking about it with her hand on his face then the camera switches two his eyepatch side as he dismisses her. Beautiful. The other one was Alicent being cut in the same place she cut Raeynra while the crowd chants and she stares at the wound. I can hear “now they see what you really are” in my head at that moment. Loved this episode

They've had some nice cinematography when it comes to Aemond and angles. Especially highlighting him from his eye patch side when making certain decisions.

It also got mentioned in the aftershow that they subtly rotated the shots around some of the actors when standing to show the "shifting" of the world beneath them.

She has to be thinking, "How did I raise such shitty children, and why did I want them to rule Westeros?"

This show could use some comedic elements, something sorely missing compared to GOT

Yes. Also it could really use some in-depth character development. Very few really likeable characters.

I wanted this show to be good. I was pulling for it. It's really not coming close to living up to its potential. Perhaps it is being held to a GOT standard that it has no chance of achieving.

The stuff with Daemon is a train wreck and has gone on long enough. Not interesting in the least is the problem. The dragon chose a guy that was running for his life to be a rider. Totally contradicts the "don't show fear" scene 10 minutes earlier.

Really not that good outside of a few scenes/ episodes. There... I said it.

As I've said, it's been a while since I read the book (and I didn't really love the book anyway), but this is how I remember it as well. She was something of a villain in the book if I remember correctly... whereas she's one of the more sympathetic/heroic characters in the show.

She flat out asks her brother if the reason her kids raised in Kings Landing are fricked up is because of her raising them there.

He was obviously trying to be kind to her by saying it was being raised in the environment of the Red Keep. But when we look at the kids raised historically in the Red Keep through Got and now HotD, he's not wrong either.

I have waited a few days on some episodes this season cuz i wasn't home on a Sunday night, but no chance I'd be able to wait for the whole season to release.

Yea, it’s been great watching her come to grips with her neglected and exploited children and Cook is excellent in showing Alicent going through it.

Well, two meh episodes in a row for me. Honestly never would have guessed they would have kept this awful Harrenhall story going so long. They have neutered one of the best characters in a show that's kind of lacking in great characters. These scenes even make his acting look bad, his whimpering/crying/scared look is just not good. I didn't think it would be possible but I am completely removed from his storyline and honestly don't care at all what happens with it/him.

For the first time I actually fell asleep watching last night and had to rewind and fell asleep again. Didn't think that would be possible wth a GRRM subject/source I enjoy like this. They went from the best episode of the entire series to the two worst. I am having a hard time trying to think of anything that I enjoyed from that episode other than Aemond and Alicent interactions. Honestly the greens are quite a bit more compelling right now.

I didn't dislike the episode, it was just very mediocre and I think it's they've run into a bigger issue that in almost two full seasons they have given you pretty much nobody that you really care about. Obviously they didn't have the details that Dumb and Dumber had with ASOIAF, but they decided to take on the show and knew they would have to come up with a ton of stuff on their own and they haven't really accomplished much with character development.

I interpreted that to be more of an indication that the dragons can spot a rider. "The wand chooses the Wizard, Mr. Potter" sort of moment.
