Funny how Team Incel seems indifferent to Criston Cole being equally at fault for fricking the princess and arguably more so for trying to convince Rhaenyra to abdicate her responsibilities to run away with him....And Alicent forgives that shite immediately because it aides in her pursuit of punishing Rhaenyra for her jealousies.

Still waiting for any evidence that Alicent told clubfoot to kill the strongs…oh right, there isn’t any.

Literacy is not your strong suit is it?
After their deaths, Larys admitted to Alicent he had orchestrated their murder. The same way Cole admitted to Alicent that he (AN ADULT) had slept with the princess (who, at the time, was a CHILD). She should have turned both of their asses in, but she didn't because it benefitted her to keep her mouth shut about their crimes.
Keep white knighting all you want, Alicent's not gonna sleep with you

We had 14 minutes of absolutely nothing but stares to begin this episode. 14 minutes of nothing in a weekly, hour long episode. Deamon is the only thing keeping this show going.

I mean...awkward-arse funeral where everyone hates each other, kids included, makes a lot of sense. Do you want quips?

so she is just retarded? cool
and even if she was literally retarded, she lost all moral superiority when she went all in with Larys this episode

You are pissing on every deontological thinker that ever lived with this retarded argument lol. Handing even the strictest Utilitarian's an easy W.
While undercutting each argument with the other.
If Alicent's superior righteousness is born out through her unwillingness to kill an innocent, that is immediately undercut by her unwillingness to bring a murderer to justice, even if you believe her words weren't the inciting match, and instead employ him as an ally. Same with Criston.
At every point when she has been tested on whether she is even and just in her application of her morality, she gladly casts it aside if it gets in the way of her vengeance.
No one would be wise to argue Rhaenyra/Daemon killing an innocent guard is good, but if we are weighing mortal immoralities, Alicent driving the realm to war and covering for a mass murderer easily takes the prize. It's not even a debate.

No quips but 14 minutes of dead air is lazy and weak no matter how you try and spin it.

She has shown time and time again that she has the pragmatic nature to be a great queen. From this, to the marriage proposal in the last episode. Her actions are good for the realm and her family.
That Pearl clutching count Alicent can't have any of it. She is just so mad that Rhaenyra likes to frick.

That's the funny thing of all of this, Alicent's disdain of Rhanerya doesn't have shite to do with her little brown haired heirs.
It all stems back to their relationship before she became Queen and her jealousy of the arrangement she gets to "enjoy" (and I use that term loosely) as the heir to the Iron Throne.
She's legit angry that she got to be with someone that she genuinely loved (Harwin).

Best episode so far and Madking is all BUT MUH SILENCE
You have a problem with people who can legitimately act or something?

She should just screw Cole on the side

The patriarchy is the ultimate villain here, and that should be kept in mind, but Alicent still had agency within her own life constraints(as unfortunate as they were for her). And at pretty much every inflection point she has chosen jealousy and misplaced vindictiveness as a response. Whereas Rhaenyra actively seeks to mend fences and build bridges unless she is cornered. And it is why she is a much more sympathetic character you can sort of root for to this point. Even if no one is really "good" per se.

Lots to say after this one...
I'm no longer on team Alicient. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt last week. But now she's just a count.
Does anyone think Rhaenyra may have hatched the plan to get rid of Laenor before talking to Daemon about it? I think they agreed to it when she was sitting there laughing at Laenor while he was telling her he would re-committ himself.
Can anyone explain the dynamics of the kingsguard? Cole is sworn to Alicient and her commands take precedence over the king? That can't be right?
What happened to Driftmark during GOT? I can't recall it or the Velaryons ever being mentioned. I guess that's a sign that the Velaryon line ends with Corlys.
Does anyone have any speculation of this week's prophecy from the Targaryen girl with the bugs?
I thought it was eerie how everyone was being told to go to bed at the funeral. Felt like everyone expected some more shite to go down like at the wedding.
Assuming Daemon and Rhaenyra have children of their own, what will happen to the bastards? Daemon may want to remove their claim so his children are the heirs. But I can't imagine that goes over well with Rhaenyra. And it gets complicated for Corlys since he has no true male heirs. If Rhaenyra becomes Queen and then admits to everyone that they were bastards and names her child with Daemon as heir then we may have war between the children.

I disagree. It's years of hatred & contempt coming to a head. The Greens & Blacks have retreated to their corners and are drawing battle lines.
And then there's poor Viserys

Team One Eye Aemomd, what a badass.

Otto is looking at Aemon to be king now. He was snaking the biggest dragon away from the blacks while Aegon was passed out drunk. I like how he walked down the same stairs Aegon was sitting on drinking.
Another great episode.
Looks like the king dies next week too. I hope this is 10 episodes instead of 8.

I didnt interpret it quite that way.
Rhaenyra clearly knew Laenor would not be happy, but also would struggle to be the person she needed in her camp(at least in her mind) as Alicent continues to escalate the situation of the Houses.
Also, I inferred from the decision that Daemon/Rhaenyra hatched the idea of faking the death(and clearly Laenor was on board), but the details were left to Daemon and Laenor. It's rather ambiguous about how the plot itself was hatched int he details, or if Rhaenyra even had any knowledge of the details. Daemon clearly did since he met with Laenor's lover.

Let's get a dragon count. I don't know the dragons names so I'm just listing the characters that have dragons.
Team Alicient:
Aegon
Aemond
Creepy sister?
Team Rhaenyra:
Rhaenyra
Daemon
Bastard 1
Bastard 2
One of Daemons mixed daughters
Neutral:
Visenya. She doesn't seem to want any part of this. It'll be interesting to see if she can convince Corlys to stay out of it. Or if he joins Daemon or convinces any of the bastards or his grandchildren to leave Daemon

There was no legitimate acting during the 14 minutes of nothing and goose stepping doesn’t make you seem intelligent to anyone who is.
