None of the characters/actors move the needle much for me. This is my concern dude.

I like Daemon, Corlys, and Young Rhaenyra. She reminds me of Arya as she wanted to fly around to see everything and did not look happy when her mother told her that her battlefield was giving birth not as a warrior.

And for me since I had read the books which created such depth for each character when watching GoT I already felt connected to them where with this show I really have no connection yet.

I think that Daemon is probably the best character so far, but even he doesn't really do much for me

I agree and think he has the most potential for the best story arc in the show. So we shall see.

No. She looks like a child. She looks like most blondes without their faces painted.

But she still looks like a kid

Disagree. She seems to have dwarf like facial features.

I do think she looks a little better with her normal hair color but she is not very attractive.

Poll will be started soon.

Even though she is 22 or 23 she does look the part of a younger princess(daughter).

FTR I was never a fan of the of Daenerys in regards to her beauty as some, but then again I never understood the attraction to Deanna Troi on STNG.

Isn't that a scene from Fight Club?

had no expectations at all going in. just interested in seeing how they got from this point to the beginning of GOT.

shite go going pretty quickly with the dismemberment part in the streets. "raper!" whack!. Thief! whack whack!.

i don't mind the princess' look. They gave her a bit of an exotic look.

Daemon is certainly the best character so far, even if he looks like he wandered in from LOTR.

like everyone else says, the birth scene was brutal. i know they left the choice up to the king but, the wife was like WTF!! no way! and he did it anyway.

maybe i just wasn't paying attention but, the throne is actually slowly killing the king. didn't realize that what caused the thing on his back. and i thought the blood on his finger was dripping down his arm from the back wound.

a war between armies with everyone having dragons certainly evens the playing field.

the orgy scene! "everybody stop" and they literally stop mid fricking.

maybe a dumb question but, I thought they couldn't be hurt by fire? So, how are the able to burn the queen and child? or is that just a GOT thing?

Not all are immune to fire. Viserys in GOT wasn't.

When you're a Targ then you are either a "real dragon" or you're not. As another poster mentioned some have it and some don't. The ones that do have the special blood tend to be pretty wild.

Danaerys was
Daemon is

I also imagine that whole non-burning thing stops when you're dead. I believe that burning is the traditional Targ burial.

Why did they give Christian Cole a flail instead of a Morningstar?

I don't think the Queen was a Targaryen by blood, just marriage. A lot of them seem to marry their sister but I think she came from another noble house - maybe Arryn?

I had to look up a family tree after the show to figure this crap out and I'm not sure I will stick with this one unless the other kingdoms and houses become a bigger part of the storyline. That was what made GOT great - all the different teams and chess pieces moving around the board. If this is just going to be an internal Targaryen soap opera - Dallas with weird, confusing names - then I will probably bail.

She was half Arryn/half Targaryen. She was cousins with her husband, King Viserys.

It is very hard to keep track of who is who with all the incest going on in this family.

True, which is why I said that I will keep watching in hopes of good character development. First episode doesn't inspire a ton of hope for me though.

I agree. Everything that I didnt like about the end of GOT seems to be manifesting itself in this production.

Huh? This book probably has the least amount of depth for each character of any of GRRM books. It's like reading a history book. The show is going to have to do a lot on it's own to add depth to these characters. You don't stay with them long enough in the books to have a lot of depth.

The biggest issue I had was for a GOT property’s return after how it was left there was no bombastic moment to grab viewers and say “we’re back”. It was like a filler episode only it had some setup and surface level backstory stuff in it. It was like the last 3rd of a season finale episode after the big event happened.

Well if there is any thing I trust Martin to do, it is to give numerous characters great and believable character- arcs. He really is a master at character-building. Since he is a writer and producer for this show, I think it is likely he will have a big part in fleshing out the characters from Fire and Blood. We will see. The biggest problem with the end of GOT for me wasn't where the characters ended up, it was the that D & D were basically burned out and wanted to do further things and so slapped the ending together without bothering to get story and the characters there in the appropriate way. I get it- that show was massive and the story is massive. They should have realized this and handed off the reins to Sapochnik or one of the other directors and let the story come to its conclusions at the correct speed rather than rushing through Season 7 and even more so Season 8.

I am confused. The books for the original GoT was full of character depth. Hell they had their own chapters as if if each one had their own book.

My comment was in regards to the original when the first episode came out after reading the books I knew a lot about them but in this series I know nothing for the most part in regards to the characters and I am starting from scratch.
