Someone explain the knife that Aegon’s mom gave him on the way to the ceremony. What’s the story behind it and why did it basically change Aegon’s mind about taking the crown?
It’s not in the books but is a great addition,
It holds the prophecy of the Long Night and the White walkers. It states Aegon will unite the kingdoms and conquer the long night.
Imo that story will get lost in time and since Rhaenyra doesn’t possess the dagger during the dance she can’t pass along to her children. Then during GOT it is possessed by Little Finger and used by the attempted assassination of Bran before being passed on to Arya stark.
Had they passed the story down they are likely much more aware of Aegon’s dream and prophecy

I can only hope that as some point soon Otto dies a very cruel and painful death.

As for why The Queen Who Never Was didn’t burn the lot of them, my interpretation is that she realizes if she were to end it there that it would spin the realm into utter chaos (worse than the coming war) and potentially cost her house the iron throne for good. At that point, the common folk of King’s Landing had been brought to bear witness and seemingly accept Aegon as their King. Murdering the in plain view would not have been wise imo

I think the prophecy likely makes it farther than we think. First, it certainly appears that Aegon understands what it signifies rather than just his father's dagger when he sees it tonight. Also, this prophecy being known at the time makes the Tragedy of Summerhall make more sense as well as it is obvious that Rhaegor seems to know of it.

It was also her way of showing mercy and telling Alicent back the frick off and she doesn't realize what she's about to start.

Its the same dagger that has passed from King to King since Aegon the Conqueror's reign. Same dagger that Alicent used to attack Rhaenyra's sons, which resulted in Rhaenyra being stabbed.
Obviously not a book reader, so coming from this as a newb, so maybe I misread the scene wrong or missed a scene earlier in the series where the importance of the dagger was explained.
Prior to the scene in the carriage, Aegon had zero interest in the crown, the throne, the armies, the kingdom. None of the stuff that comes with being King.
But as soon as his mom opened that case, Aegon’s whole demeanor changed and he said sometime along the lines of, “don’t toy with me like that”. It’s like he became excited.
I mean the iron throne has obviously been passed from king to king and it’s full of cutting blades, but Aegon couldn’t give two shits about that

Queen Alicent Hightower, first of her name, originator of the selling of feet pics

What’s the story on that house that was on fire towards the end of the episode?

Was that the house that ran the blood sport with kids?

I’ve got to be honest, as much as we hated Olivia Cooke’s Alicient in episodes 6-9, the denigration she suffers from her father and especially Larys, who killed his entire family only to beat off to her feet, is very tragic.
I think she truly feels trapped by Larys and it’s pretty hard to watch for me personally. As much as I disliked her and was rooting for Rhanerya, seeing her be so violated without any sort of physical or verbal threat was heartbreaking.
This dude posed himself as her only friend when she was alone, then killed his father + brother/Rhaynera’s baby daddy and acted like he did it because Alicent told him to when it was only gain power for himself and this episode shows she clearly cares for Rhaynera since she pretty much out maneuvered Otto so he couldn’t order Rhaynera’s assassination.
To me, Larys is by far the most disturbing character in GOT. Way further than Joffrey or
Ramsey were.

On some level, I cannot be totally appalled by Alicent because she really does think she heard what Viserys wanted. Otto is completely degenerate and without merit, but Alicent has some modicum of sincerity.
Alicent was absolutely mortified at the small council meeting, because even though she misinterpreted what Viserys told her on his deathbed, she was unaware that there was a deep state plan to install Aegon anyway once Viserys passed.
She realizes this, and she realizes Otto.

So I’m assuming Rhaenys and Meleys were the “beast beneath the baseboards” that Princess Helaena kept talking about.

here’s the current dragon situation

Larry's is clearly dangerous and she knows it. He is more parasite than ally. She is not powerless though. She could easily send him to the wall if she didn't want her rage knight Cole to kill him. As far as we can tell House Strong offers her nothing politically and no ramifications to exiling him.
Painting her as the victim is incomplete. She is using him in equal measure, specifically, to be her eyes and ears and do her dirty work (like presumably destroying the white worm).

Alicent is proven to be the most manipulative in the show. Controls one lord to do her biding using his foot fetish but pretends she does not want blood on her hands and seems appalled when he does his work but rewards him. Controls a knight who wants her and allows him to kill lords and anyone else that gets her way.
I understand how this plays out and it would have dramatically changed future events but I would have loved to seen the dragon burn them.

I’m a simpleton, so can someone explain to me who the dark hair brothers are who were looking for Aegon?
Also, I didn’t understand that scene when they found him. Why were they sword fighting? Was there ever a plot to kill Aegon?
Also, not sure about y’all but Alicent is gorgeous
