I’m happy they finally slowed things down

That's, like, the entire point of that scene, homeslice. Are you that stupid?

We’ve had a grand total of about 30 seconds of dragons in 2 episodes. I want more dragons
Opposite for me, just like GoT, I find the most intriguing part of the show to be the politics, rather than the zombies and dragons.
ETA: the dragons are essentially just nukes, the people who control them are more interesting IMO

I even played it back and turned on subtitles hoping it’d say who was talking. It didn’t.

It wasn’t obvious during the fight before Arryk was slain. But Erryk clearly says “I’m sorry your Highness” before falling on his sword. The context clue makes it obvious at the end of the fight who was who.

Right here, baby. Aemond is my favorite character.

But it was clearly Sir Erryk (the brother aligned with the Blacks) who killed himself at the end because he apologies to Rhaenyra.
I don’t know if it’s in the book or if they clear it up next episode but the case could be made it was the other brother that killed himself in the end. He could have been pissed that Cole sent him there and had him kill his brother so he had a change of heart or just didn’t want to help the Greens anymore. Or just out of pure grief for what he just did.
But yes your explanation would be the most obvious.

I think it was Arryk that killed himself. If you watch the fight again, Erryk gets his thigh cut open protecting Rhaenyra and Arryk jabs his finger in it to get him off right before they come together and Erryk is stabbed. Erryk is also cut in the forehead during the fight.
I think Arryk is seeking forgiveness for not supporting Rhaenyra. He realized too late that he made the wrong choice and acknowledges her as queen with his dying words. I don’t see any reason why Erryk would kill himself other than guilt from killing his brother.

It wasn't super action packed but it developed the characters. You see the tension building within each side now and you see that the small folk will have an impact. The character development and world building is what makes this show great. Without it, other episodes don't hit as hard.
I'll admit this show is turning into a slow burn. We've been on the edge of war for like 7 or so episodes now. It reminds me a bit of better call saul which was a great way to do a spinoff

Two different tellings in the book and I’m fairly certain neither end with suicide. One was an hour long fight, and the other was a relatively short fight.

I do wish they made them more empathetic. Sounds like they had a good opportunity in episode 1 if they'd have stuck to the books but they didnt

Otto reminds me a lot of Tywin. The patriarch who gets his family to the top spot in the realm, all for his hard work to get undone by his retarded descendants.

However, the Greens have Criston Cole who is a Top 3 most hated character in the universe for me and pushing hard for the top spot. That cancels out any support for the Greens.
Overall I’m team nobody, I just want to watch the fireworks

Yes it was, Arryk says "You parted us". Given Erryk is the only one that left, this is established who was who

Literally said the exact thing to my wife while we were watching. Greens really could have used the child’s death as a rallying point and likely would have won the war before it even began. But after him and Criston Cole’s bullshite, they’re back to square one. Actually, I’d say instead of the Greens gaining advantage, they took a huge hit by Aegon sending Otto away, the shite with Ser Arryk and the rat catchers. I can’t stand Otto but he’s just like Tywin and would have won the war for Aegon the way Tywin did for Joffrey

Did we watch different shows/read different books. Tywin won the War of the Five Kings by 2 big blunders: Edmure Tully being a glory hound and Robb Stark disregarding his Frey betrothal.
Outside of those 2 things, 15 year old Robb Stark was kicking Joffrey's arse left and right.

Greens twin was the one who won, incredible scene.

Alicent walks in on Aegon mourning, instead of being a mother turns away and goes to get banged out by Cole.
Priorities, tell me again why I’m about to be team Green? Hell with this hoe
