If these people were more interested in protecting children than extorting money, several pedophiles in Hollywood would already be behind bars.

The obvious answer is Bill Cosby.

I'm pretty much here. Or, if he was shielded because his family knew the score, my best guess he was a witness - he was the same age of some of this reported victim population.

The brat pack had mostly 1962 births (although they played younger characters), with a few exceptions. Charlie was not an official member, but he was born in '65. Even other folks associated with the Brat Pack fall into that pattern - Cruise born in '62, Matt Dillon in '64 (like Rob Lowe, who was raised with Bob Wagner's kids), Howell in '66 and Macchio in '61. Only Judd Nelson ('59) and Swayze ('51) were significantly older than that 1962 birth year. Only AMH, Ringwald, and "associate" RDJ were significantly younger than that, all born in 1968.

If this predator had been around, he could have gotten to any of them. If he was beginning to strike in the early 80s - most of the brat pack and wider circle were grown, and in their 20s. Really, only Hall, Ringwald and Downey would have been minors. RDJ has been outspoken on the issue and even helped out some situations.

Things could get interesting, particularly if it is an "older" A-lister (just out of curiosity - would Robert Wagner be considered an "A-lister"?)

And this makes sense. There is no question that stars have/can be predators, but the entire predatory nature of agents/producers and even directors makes this far more likely. A co-star can't make or end your career (or least not easily). A prominent director or producer can do it with a facial expression.
