Well that episode escalated quickly at the end.

Pilot was a pos but especially like how nobody jumped in to help Elba’s character. The car switch was pretty cheesy and predictable too.

If the writing was better this would be a top 3 show on their platform.

I'm probably in the minority- I liked this show initially, but I find myself looking at my phone or doing other things when my gf watches it now. It is just a slog- they could have done this in like 4 episodes.

I’m loving this although I do agree it could have been done as a movie or more of a limited series type of show. Who in the hell was that woman at the end? Was not expecting that.

we were yelling at the tv for others to help him Haha someone easily could have and should have grabbed that gun that was just laying on the floor.

I am thinking that the woman is the wife of one of the main bad dudes on the ground, but also some grizzled criminal, and she was planted there without the hijackers' knowledge in case shite hit the fan.

I think this has to be the case. And like many other posts I like this show but I feel like its dragged a bit. Its like 80% hijackers screaming and threatening people and about 20% actual good substance.

Still a great watch knowing its only 7 eps

I know countless studies talk about how binary the fight or flight reaction is and how we never really know if we’ll react until that moment happens, but if a passenger attacked a hijacker and his gun was just lying on the floor, and I didn’t grab it and pop him in the head, don’t think you ever come back from that level of pussy

They keep showing a guy at the back of the plane who isn't traveling with anyone that I remember from the first episode when he went through security. I assumed there was going to be a sleeper hijacker that would show up at some point and thought it would be him. Every time passengers talked about plans around him I would wait for his reveal.

I'm still not ruling him out to be involved but with one episode left I'm not betting on him anymore. Probably just the new woman.

They definitely lead us to believe that he was implicit, but I think that he is a red herring. I think that they switched his bag with another bag with a gun in it. However, the intense phone call he had saying "make the trade" right as passengers were being seated makes me skeptical.

Does anyone else think that strange looking lady with the big glasses who wouldn't take the drink with the message on it is something like an undercover air marshal or something? She's been acting strange the whole series.

I just know I wouldn’t mind if that horrible human who is the wife of the doctor ends up dead. They won’t do that with her having her two little kids with her but my god they have made her absolutely insufferable and if there isn’t at least some pay off then I will be pissed. Even if she just takes a good punch to the nose.

Had the same feeling but she will probably end up with a heroic act.

The hijackers' boss coerced him into carrying the gun through security (assisted by their pressure on the security lady) and he "made the trade" with the lady from the end of the last episode.

She made the move to get into the cockpit and take out the pilot. I'm thinking she has some (possibly rudimentary) pilot training and she was Edgar's failsafe plan, because clearly Stewart is a putz.

For a second I was thinking she was some kind of air marshal who just pussied out on her job until she saw an opening… nope.

Was that her phone we heard vibrate during the commotion? I’m thinking the “DO IT NOW” text must have gone to her. Now the rest of the hijackers are fricked.

Spoilers
quote:

Europe is allowing a hijacked airplane to fly through their airways w/out military escort? The different country's ATC don't communicate w/each other? The airline company wasn't involved when the pilot was unresponsive for an extended period.

Out of all these criticisms, the only one that actually seemed way off to me was the fact that we have seen no involvement from the airline.

The first country they passed through that actually knew the plane had been hijacked was Romania, and they did in fact scramble fighters. At that point I don’t think the folks in the UK even knew for sure. The Brits convince the Romanians not to shoot the plane down which, IMO, is not exactly unbelievable. I think in reality the plane would likely continue to be tailed from a distance by fighters but it doesn’t really serve a purpose in the show.

Then when they get to Hungary, the Hungarians are trying to spring a trap on the runway. They know what’s going on but they also don’t want to tip off the hijackers.

I assume they are now over Germany so it will be interesting to see whether there’s any German reaction now that the hijacking is public knowledge.

As far as the communication between the different ATC’s - I feel like we’ve seen them communicate plenty.

Idk, I feel like the general chaos of the government response and CYA attitude among the politicians is a pretty major element of the show. It feels like they’ve known about the hijacking forever and have had plenty of time to coordinate a response, but it’s actually only been a couple of hours in their time.

The writing in this has quickly devolved. Maybe because it’s too stretched out.

Only one of the hijackers is physically capable and they’re restraining 200 passengers? A bunch of state department women squealing about innocent people as they let out two major criminals? Ok

The cop sequence in the finale had me lmao. Mixed feelings overall on the finale, I guess it depends on if they are really gonna make it a limited series.
