Went to HS with Jeff used to see him every 4-5 years when I went

For people that don't know...there are basically two Ren Fairs at all these things...
1) During the day, family friendly, passersby, etc.
2) Hardcore travelers which have a very high intersection with the fetish, swinging, etc communities. The campgrounds at Renaissance Fests are basically cosplay frick fests throughout the night into the morning.
Hence the rainbow buttplug tails.

Been once, what I saw was hot fat sweaty people. Of course there is always the exception to the rule and you would see a hot chick dressed up, but for the most part it was fat sweaty gross chomping on a turkey leg.

I’ve never been to the renaissance festival. Watching this was frustrating because the end was the same as the beginning. George was a complete pervert and he would be sued for sexual harassment in any other job. That lazy eye kills me.

A friend of mine grew up on the grounds covered in this doc around the culture. CPS forced him into Navasota in HS and his telling of that experience is pretty wtf.
He fortunately found Christianity in college and settled but some of his stories are wild.
One time he gave his testimony in church and his mom was there and said “it wasn’t that bad, you made me sound like a horrible mother.”
He responded with “mom, I love you and you were always there and I will never not be thankful but most of my life was spent on abandoned buses or RVs while you were sleeping around with random Ren guys to keep a roof over our head and to pay for the next show. You were a good mom in caring for me but my mother experience is not like other people”
Awesome dude on this side of it but that life sounded very unstable.

the campground gets pretty wild.
The daytime festival is tame and a great day out for kids, we go multiple days every year it’s a blast. If you want to party naked, pitch a tent and get your freak on after the gates close.

I suspect the entire thing was fake. The people are real, and of course, they are all weird, but all of the drama was scripted out. Even if you're gullible enough to think it was real, it was way over-produced.
