It has bothered me a hundred times more than I thought it would have. Maybe it’s exacerbated by the original actor dying somewhat recently. He was superb imo.

This was on my YouTube homepage today. I have no idea the credibility of this YouTuber. I’m assuming because I have participated in this thread that the algorithm put this near the top of my page.
ETA: I have nothing against Lithgow, but he isn’t a great choice for Dumbledore. Sides the obvious being American thing, he is way too old to cast in what they hope to be a decade long series production.

I hope this happens. I can roll my eyes about most race-swaps, as they’re almost always immaterial, but this one just doesn’t work on any level.

He’s def got a different look than what Dan had as Harry. But this look is actually more in line what what I envisioned as a kid. Always thought Harry was kind of dorky looking until he got older and had a come up and started pulling some bad bitches in like Cho and Ginny

I agree w/you on the age thing. I have no idea why they are setting themselves up to have to replace several actors. They cast Anton Lesser as Olivander. They guy is great but he's 73 years old and is a required character for the final book. The odds of him still being able to act at that point aren't exactly great.

It looks like they are filming 1 and 2 back to back, I'm thinking they may do that again 3+4.

Oh shite they got the guy who played Qyburn in Game of Thrones to play Ollivander. Not quite John Hurts but that’s an excellent casting

It’s a great choice to bring everyone back after a 2-3 month break between 1&2. Need to have a little bit longer of a break between 3&4 I think just because the series gets darker and there’s a significant amount to be filmed for Goblet. The young cast needs that extra growth spurt too because that’s when they’ll need to be a little older and take a leap in acting ability that the OG cast just didn’t take outside of Watson.

I was neutral on the Snape casting but seeing how ate up the board culture warriors are with it has made me a fan. Hopefully they decide not to watch so we dont have to deal with their bitching about everything in the show thread.

The new Harry looks strangely more like a girl dressed up as Harry, more so than an actual 11 year old boy, at least in that one still. I think it's the hair and the forehead.

It's covering more storylines from the books that weren't covered in the movies.
