Agreed. And if we did a "comic book movie" bracket it should, theoretically, be way low. It's not really effective as a "comic book" movie. They may not be better films, but 300, SIn City, Spider-Man 2 are all superior as comic book movies.

You may be right. The Dark Knight certainly has a lot of fans who generally aren't big fans of the superhero/comic book genre (and I include myself in that group). In fact, the things that make it fall short as a 'comic book movie' may be part of why it's so popular in the first place. For example, while I absolutely love Heath Ledger's Joker, I often find myself cringing at some of the other takes on the character, who people often say are more true to the comics.

Pity 'Unbreakable' wasn't adapted from a comic book. That would easily be on my top 10 'superhero' adaptations.

Not everyone likes TDK. I have several friends that think it's highly overrated.

I wouldn’t say it’s overrated, but for me, Batman begins is the best of the trilogy, and imo the best comic book movie of all time.

I know this won’t be a popular opinion, but I enjoyed tdkr as much as tdk. I loved Tom hardy’s Bane.

The OP says "rank all the comic book movies", but the thread seems to be a "rank all of the DC and Marvel mainstream superhero movies and Watchmen" thread.

People are leaving out Oscar nominated films like Road to Perdition and Ghost World and awesome movies like The Rocketeer and Mask.

So, yeah, DC and Marvel superheroes.

I put Spawn and Kingsmen in there man.

I welcome ones I missed but I only ranked ones I’ve seen.

I’m sure you could do Red, V, Losers in retrospect, but I forget a lot of those were comic books. Heck you could throw Walking Dead in there.

There’s 10x the DC/Marvel movies to choose from than Image, Vertigo, etc.

Thought I would bump this as it’s been 3 years since the OP and we’ve had DC’s universe come in to play and the culmination of MCU.

Not interested in hashing every single movie out but I wanted to add the newer ones as well as adjust as time has passed.

1. Dark Knight
Logan
Iron man
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Infinity War
Dredd
Guardians of the Galaxy
Endgame
Deadpool
Deadpool 2
Avengers
Xmen: DoFP
Thor Ragnarok
Wonder Woman
Batman Begins
Spider-Man 2
XMen 2
GotG v2
Spider-Man Homecoming
Amazing SpiderMan
Dark Knight Rises
Watchmen
Black Panther
Batman (Keaton)
Aquaman

I can’t say I liked Justice League or Captain Marvel to rank them higher than Aquaman.

These new MCU (and Deadpool) movies make the Dark Knight look plodding and unfun.

Hard to pick a favorite, but all my favorites are Deadpool and MCU.
