I watched episode 5 last night. I'm enjoying the hell out of the series. I was an avid Halo player and read all the books when I was younger. I'm kind of glad they came up with something new.

See folks! Patience is rewarded.

I'm glad we finally got some action, but Jesus are we looking for the artifact or Chiefs adoption papers?
And that side storyline with the Korean girl is as pointless as the drone pilots in Jack Ryan's first season.

10 minutes of her beating a motorcycle with a gotdamn rock. Please make it stop! I can't watch a second more of anything that has to do with Kwan or Madrigal.

Well, as much as I hate this series, Ill admit I'm a glutton for punishment. I've decided I'm going to see this first season through.
After watching the episode that dropped to day, I'm still amazed at how the writers and producers came to the conclusion, that focusing on the drama of how Halsey acquired the children for the Spartan program and introducing some forced drama between 117 and Halsey, and him basically going rouge.
I get it her kidnapping the children and the fact an overwhelming % of them didn't survive the process, is a huge part of the lore and story, but its not the part of the story they should be deep diving into right now, if they wanted the show to succeed. This could have been done in lters seasons bit by bit. Once the show would have caught on and was on solid footing.

I enjoy it well enought. And my wife, who had 0 exposure to anything Halo before this show, also enjoys it without knowing the background.
With that said the 2 best scenes in this show by far have been the fight scenes with the Covenant.
The equipment, the weapons, the ships, the way the aliens look. They nailed all of that.
Even the first person shot of him shooting hopelessly at the ship as it was going into space. Who didn't do that playing the game?

She's basically the Rose Tico of Halo....

That would have been amazing if this season was a lead up to season 2 being a live action if the book The Fall of Reach, but they completely rewrote too much of the lore for that.
If nothing else I would suffice for a reimagining of The Fall of Reach.
Have this been renewed for an S2?

It was renewed for Season 2 before the first season even started.

Good to hear. It can always be canned still, but I like the commitment. Sometimes these shows take more than a season to fins their groove and its worth it in the end

Go ahead and skip to 35 minutes in to avoid a lot of pointless bull shite in this 100% Kwan-centric episode. The last 15 mins have some action worth watching though.

Its actually mind-bending how some fricking idiot at Paramount thought that Kwan Ha was the answer to a Halo project.
If you removed episode 7 from the season you wouldn't miss ANYTHING.

frick Kwan. All my homies hate Kwan.

I can't believe this late in the season they wasted an ENTIRE episode on this stupid story line.
Posted on 5/5/22 at 8:07 pm to MetroAtlantaGatorFan
Show would be better if they just spent a the $$ from the madrigal storyline on hookers and blow.

Did I miss something? How the hell did Soren get off Madrigal in ep. 7?

I'm just starting to watch..
I don't know much of halo lore but I really liked the episode of master cheif exploring his old house...
With his heavy steps and regained memories it was almost a shot for shot scene from robocop.
I'm sure it didn't do much for halo fans.. but I thought that was nostalgic AF.
