Baby sister/ babysitter w/ an infatuation by Michael Meyers?
The 1st movie didn't explain; after further research its Michael's sister but when did they ever explain in a movie?

Didn't they say that in H20? You know, when she chopped his head off..

Oh okay. Sure never did do a back story or ever explain well besides that..
Was H2O supposed to be the last movie?
If his head was off then how are their sequels lol

Halloween 2 when Loomis and the Nurse are talking in the back of the police car.

Halloween’s continuity is a clusterfrick to say the least
Halloween and possibly Halloween II are canon in most instances.
III is non-canon for all.
4-6 follow Laurie’s orphaned daughter. Those have continuity with each other.
H20 only acknowledges 1-2.
Resurrection (?) explains the ending of H20 then moves on
Somewhere in there is Rob Zombie’s reboot series.
Then there are 1-2 new ones that I believe only acknowledge 1 and maybe 2.
It’s up there with Highlander for basically making every sequel discontinuity after a while but keeping the first one as continuity.

Here ya go. It's a little crazy to say the least

Because she was never intended to be his sister. He was meant to represent pure evil ravaging a town, not an angry lost brother. The idea was that evil is evil and doesn't need any explanation; it simply exists and destroys.
It was in the second movie where they decided to draw a connection and make a franchise out of it.

This is correct. The new movies out right now follow the original movie only and ignore the sibling connection between the two.

Original intention, per Carpenter, Debra Hill, etc, was for Michael Myers to be a one-off and for every subsequent film to be a horror film themed around Halloween.
If Halloween III - Season Of The Witch releases without Halloween II existing, it might actually work.
But with Myers as the face of the franchise, it died a horrible death. Like a bunch of kids in cursed masks.

Michael had escaped before the crash and put a orderly or nurse in his place. Laurie cut the head off of a random dude

That scene would have worked so much better had it been her dumb teacher boyfriend that MM used for the switch. It would have made far more sense for her to end up in the insane asylum for killing him vs a rando.
Of course the real correct move would have been to excise all the Laurie stuff from Resurrection and only briefly mention that MM's body was never found at the crash scene.

Yup. They speak about this in the commentary of the BluRay release of the original Halloween from a few years back.

She's not his sister, she's just the one who got away. At least according to John Carpenter.
The most recent additions to the franchise are direct sequels to the first movie. They don't count anything from Halloween 2 on as having occured; maybe an alternate universe

This. And her name is Laurie Strode.

New Halloween trilogy discounts the sister theory as well as everything in Halloween 2. It even alters the end of the original Halloween 1 where he was shot and escaped. In the newest one he was captured by law enforcement on the front lawn of the Myers residence and sent to a psychiatric facility for 40 years until his escape in 2018.

Halloween has the same level of continuity and timeline clarity as most daytime soap operas.

Her dad was a realtor who was selling the Myers house. He had Laurie take the key over to the Myers house on Halloween morning for a future showing. Myers happened to be in the house and saw her come. That made her the target.
The End.

And you get to see the girl from Halloweens 4 & 5 get naked in the 2007 Rob Zombie remake, as a 30-year old playing a teenager. Haha.
